However demonstrated by the failed Ukrainian attack and his presumption he could take it in three days.

Ukraine
Russian Frigate allegedly burning after Ukrainian strike. Some video going around purportedly showing it burn, but it hasn’t been verified.

That frigate was only 6 years in service.
The Black Seas Fleet still has at least 3 deployable frigates and 6 subs, plus many smaller craft. So that gives them plenty of antiship and cruise missile launching, but they don't have seaborn air defenses except close in and short range (a few ships have some medium range). Losing Moskva was a huge hit for them. And losing this frigate and 2 PT boats reinforces the issue.
That's probably why most of their ships are hiding in Sevastopol.

This video gets basically everything right in talking about the realities of what Russia would do based on its actual doctrine and interests vs its capabilities and the battlefield it faces, the history and effectiveness of nuclear threats, what NATO can do, and when nukes would actually be used. It is worth the watch, especially if you enjoyed MV and my discussion in thread. You can play it at 2x and only miss one sentence. tldw the risk is non-zero, but close to zero.

Can’t watch now, but that seems to be OBrien’s thinking of the US, thinking. In the thread talking about the intelligence leaks, he says US is giving Russia plenty of opportunities to escalate with chemical/nuclear if they wanted to, but they aren’t - calling their bluff.

UKR still having a lot of success with their counteroffensives:
https://twitter.com/phillipspobrien/...dbTHa_JAoTRuSA
Shortly after the battle of Donbas started, people were thinking that Russia was starting the offensive with a ‘light’ push while they regrouped for a stronger push that would come shortly, but it does seem at this point that the light push was all they were ever going to be able to muster.

Turkish media video showing the burning frigate:
https://twitter.com/antiputler_news/...U-2I0dL9upSZ9g
Uncontrolled fire forward of the superstructure in the area of the VLS cells (8 cruise missiles and 36 SAMS) and ASW mortars...
The ship has a notable list but still has electrical power in the video (note the air/sea surveillance radar array is spinning)...
Besides the 36 medium range SAMs, it had the Kashtan short range missile defense system which uses 64 anti-missile-missiles and 30mm CIWS, plus ECM and decoys. These didn't stop the Ukrainian Neptune ASCM (Harpoonski).
Removing combat elements and leaving occupation forces I'd imagine.Originally Posted by blurred

A very defensible rabbit warren where Orcs can go to die...
Once Orcs reduce capacity, the Marines inside Azovstal will resupply and keep fighting. Orcs will not be able to control Mariupol.

Nice yacht, be a shame if anything happened to it.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.
