You guys playing wordle?
I didn’t know there was a hard mode and an easy mode. I’ve generally been playing it hard, if that counts, but recently I’ve dabbled with ignoring any hits for my second word. AEROS and TUNIC, or similar. Seems to get me there in approx the same guesses, but helps eliminate the PROSE WHOSE MOOSE GOOSE LOOSE NOOSE nonsense (though notably not really with the examples provided).
Now that I know there’s a hard way and an easy way I’m all hard way from here on out.focus.

I don’t see the point in ignoring hits.
Also. Reusing a dead letter? Yeah. I guess it works. If it were a timed contest it might make sense. But I enjoy looking at the leftovers and the hits and finding the answer. Mostly I get it in three. But I may take a few minutes racking my brain. To me that’s the fun.

It's a good inversion of wordle. I found it surprisingly difficult and failed more than I've won.

If you get three out of five on the first guess (which happens often with my start word) you’re limited to 10 more letters to sort out the answer to use a total of 15 different letters. If you use ten different letters up front and still only get three hits (obviously less likely), you have 8 letters left for a total of 18 different letters.
It would all flow even more nicely into a probability chart, too, at least insofar as identifying hits.focus.

I was one day away from changing my opening word, it wasn't working well, and then today I got it in two so I guess I'm staying with it for a while

"Tryst" the other day was interesting. I got it in 3 because I had done ATONE and got the T, then TULIP and still got only had the T, but in the right place and I had already used AEIOU. So I knew there were no vowels and it started with T. It just took some staring time from there.

The thing I like about Wordle is line three.
You used vowels. And common consonants
What’s left. Wrack your brain.
It’s good fun.
Four should be easy. But sometimes it takes me a few minutes. Study the leftovers and the known.
