    Glad I picked these up.

    Matched with 28.5 Lange RX LV and am kinda blown away. They were already more comfortable than the stock liners after about ~ 45 minutes of wearing them around my house. Put the liners on my heat stacks at work and am standing in them now... Feel damn close to perfect with almost no work, can't wait to ski em. I am guessing I might need a little more cork in the future, but the hold is already amazing. Zero slop and a comfy toe box.

    FWIW Zipfit is still not sure what's wrong, but they're taking care of me. If this is happening to anyone else I'd suggest mailing them so they have data on what's happening. I'll update y'all if they figure it out.

    I wrote to them a long time ago, and they've written me a few times over the past several months to tell me that they don't have a clue what is going on, but wanted to keep me in the loop.

    When you say "taking care of you," what exactly does that mean? Keeping you up to date, same as me, or something more decisive.

    They told me a few days ago they'd be replacing liners for me. My fit has definitely gotten worse throughout the year, which honestly it had to with how much booger material ended up oozing out. I'd get about a pinky fingernail's worth of boogers coming out every day, which isn't much day to day, but over 100 days ends up being a lot.

    Thanks. Yeah, mine would leak every time I wore them, more on the warmer days. I can't say I'm excited about replacing them. I have invested a lot of money in OmFIT that now resides in those liners.

    But, what you describe makes complete sense. My left boot has been perfect for a long time; the right is like chasing shadows. It could certainly be due to the goo coming out little by little.


    Edit: Just occurred to me that I can remove all the OmFIT from the liners. Fortunately have quite a few empty tubes here. A bit of a chore, but nothing difficult.

    Question for the zipfit experts. Just got a pair of Gara LVs (26.5) to go with my 26.5 Hawx Ultras. I have (twice) warmed the liners at 150-160 for 20-30min, stuck insoles in and then tried stepping into my boots. Each time I have to pull apart the boot at the crossover (2nd buckle) to be able to jam my foot in there. The zipfits are just bulkier than the stock liners. Once i get it in, things feel ok - definitely some pressure but not bad. The Zipfit online recommendation suggested this was right size pairing w the Hawx. Does this get better with time, or do I need to heat up the shells too? Id rather not as I have already done a couple rounds of molding and boot work to get these boots to work. Id also rather not do this everyday I go skiing!

    There are some videos online about how to step into your boot w/ liner on, make sure you are doing it correctly. Also, put teflon tape inside your shells. But my best advice is to buy a heated boot bag, then they just slip in like butter and you start every day w/ warm feet.

    You mean it is difficult to step into your shell with the liners on your feet? It should get better as you will figure out the best way to do it. I put my resort boot shells in my freezer once and suffice it to say it was next to impossible to get my foot/Gara LV in 'em. I was able to, but it sucked. I could easily be in the ZF Corsa since there is not much room in my boot.

    Maybe a little squirt of silicone spray might help you. IDK if silicone spray will fuck up the ZFs, though. I doubt it.

    Don’t heat your shells. Run tuct tape or teflon tape on the boot board and up the inside of the cuff. Be sure no to leave edges exposed or they will peel. You can also run tape over the heel of the liner.

    Keep your shells and liner decently warm if you can. Foot heater in the car works.

    Drop your knee really low to get your toes pointing straight down into the cuff.

    I pull my lower shell open as well. Nothing wrong with that.

    It will definitely get easier as your technique improves and your shell flexes this way a bunch.

    I have Corsas in a Lange RS 140.

    I definitely have to spread the shell apart with my hands to be able to step in.

    I think there’s video out there, but reach both hands down through the upper cuff, then spread the lower clog while stepping in.

    Olympic bookworks puts some sort of fantastic hockey tape across the heel of all their zipfits. Doesn't seem to wear, extends the life of the zipfits quite a bit.

    I have your exact setup, 26.5 Gara LVs with 26.5 Hawx Ultras. I use the technique described above (knee nearly to ground) and with my hands, spread the clog above the second buckle. I struggled at first and didn't think I'd ever be able to do it but now that I've figured it out and have the muscle memory for the technique it's easy. I have not added any tape or spray to reduce friction. Super happy with the fit and setup.

    Att zipfit gurus!

    Question for those who have worked with Zipfit's more than me... Adding cork for more "heel hold", is there a time you add to the heel pocket rather than the tongue? I've got the slightest amount of heel lift after half a dozen days in these new to me Gara Stealth's. Zipfit had a video that says to add to the middle of the tongue first, but I am thinking this might be easier to fix by adding slightly to the ankle area. Probably hard to describe over the internet, but it feel like my achilles is a bit loose and I can lift my heel 5mm or so. Start by adding half a tube of cork to the tongue and go from there? Any other insights? Thanks!

    I always added to the tongue until almost all lift was gone, then locked in the left/right movement with the ankle/heel pockets.

    Adding to the heel area first can easily push you forward.

    Anybody running garas in a 3 piece? My bootfitter was adamant that I should put the liner IN the shell then step in.

    I've got a little work to do on one side of the liner where my lateral malleous is - kind of have a friction burn feeling when I put boot on edge.

    Weird. We looked at that, but there was no way it was happening, and my foot is quite narrow and low volume.

    The Gara LV was massively bulky compared to the stock liner.

    Edit: Just looked at the Rossi and it’s not identical to the Lange RS 140. The Rossi is listed as 97mm last, but the Lange is 95mm. Also, the Lange comes with a lace up liner, same as their full on race boots, whereas the Rossi has a traditional liner.

    Definitely coming out of different molds, and look how much narrower the Lange forefoot is:

    No. Keep the liner on your foot. 99% of the time this is the way to go. It is very easy to step into 3 piece boots. Just be aware that you need to drop your knee and point your toe vertically. If you allow your toes to move forward to early, your foot could get snagged in the opening of the cabrio.

    Hmm. I figured they were more or less the same boots. Anyway, my liner is snuggie in the Hero shell for sure.
