Website says they’re only compatible with race plates. Can they be used on a ski without plates?

I've mounted them on a flat ski.

Thanks. They're just for puttering around in Spring Corn.

Do you have to source shorter screws to mount directly on skis ? Screaming deal that I possibly can't pass up.

    Nope.

Figuring out where to drill to get the forward pressure to work right and put the boot where you want it on the ski is a little tricky given the floating heel. Do some test mounts on a 2x4.

Best of luck with mounting on flat skis, I've heard a fair few horror stories with the race plate version PX heels being ripped out of skis.

But they go to DIN 18. They're wood skis so I just motor around at low vectors.

There have been several pairs of these floating around on ebay as well. Does anyone know if I can use only the toes without the connecting bar? I have a set of P18s heels that need a mate.

The connecting bar doesn't really do anything, you could trim it back to the AFD. As far as I can tell the only difference between this and a P18 toe is that the minimum DIN setting is 10 instead of 8. It's also possible to swap these toes directly on to an alpine pivot AFD.
