I sent you a PM so I didn't clog the thread. We are out there Sept. 16 - 27th.

Laps - I will shoot you a message. Perry Hill is on my list and I have never ridden there. Itinerary is TBD but as we get closer, I will let you know. I appreciate it.

Interesting network and trail names. Similar to a network in Stowe called Cady Hill with a trail Called Bears’s trail.

I’ve been out of the loop of the CVT bike scene, recently learned a certain heavily opinionated/shit stirrer had a couple of trails he built closed for not getting proper permission from the town and a few land owners.

    Irreverent Road Ride 11

Anyone up for some next-level suffering this coming Saturday? The eleventh edition of the venerable Irreverent Road Ride is happening somewhere (start location and route revealed Friday night) in Hancock, VT at 6:30AM, Saturday, July 9th. Here are details and registration link:

THE WORST TRADITION IN CYCLING LIVES ON

So we're a little late getting this out into the wild, but those of you that have had your ears to the wind and your eyes to the sky likely saw our signals.

IF WE DON'T SECURE INSURANCE FOR THE EVENT, IT WILL BE CANCELLED. That said, it's been a non-issue in the past. You'll get a full refund.

IRR 11.0 will be created in the continued theme of fever dream turned bike ride. It will legitimately change your life.

What does your entry fee get you?

    • A GPX File of the single most challenging dirt road ride ever offered for mass consumption.
    • 4x4 follow vehicle
    • Random water drops at opportune locations
    • Sites of Vermont that you could only begin to imagine, bring a camera
    • Some bourbon (if you please)
    • Some Liquid Death (it's just water) if you don't please
    • A semi-organized roll-out at 6:30am on 7.9.22
    • $100 hidden somewhere along the route, if you follow the clues, maybe you'll find it.
    • That's a 10X increase from last year.
    • Your name logged in the finishers notebook
    • Provided you finish the route as prescribed
    • Provided you finish the route before the clock strikes midnight
    • Provided you can prove your completion of the route via Strava, etc.
    • And provided that no one completes the route on an actual road bike, in which case your result will be nullified.
    • An e-mail newsletter that will never arrive. Honest.

If you've attended IRR in the past, you know what you're in store for, only this time, we're turning it up to 10. Actually, we did that last year, so this one will go to 11. Grand depart will take place from an accessible location in Vermont right smack in the middle of the Green Mountains and the challenges will not relent until you've made your way back. Book a room at the Blueberry Hill Inn, or camp out at Moosalamoo Campground. IRR 11.0 HQ is still TBD for this year's ride.

    Important details:
    • Distance: you'll regret asking. It's extremely long.
    • Difficulty: Extremely challenging. No take-backs.
    • Best bike to ride: there isn't one, they're all the wrong bike.
    • Elevation gain: WELL over 16,000'.
    • Terrain: everything imaginable from your happiest thoughts to the unmentionable.
    • Looking forward to seeing you out there, from behind the wheel of the SHS Tacoma, or along side you on two wheels.

2022 will be one to remember and hinges on being the last every IRR, so if you've been putting it off, this is probably the one to find the time to make happen.

If this is your first time attending IRR, we pull no punches. This is hands down, unquestionably the most challenging single day bike ride in America. People finish Unbound 200 faster than IRR. The finisher rate hovers arounds 10-20% each year (except that one year...). The roads are questionable at times, and lost completely at others. The ride will demand not only endurance in it's truest form, but mental fortitude that is impossible to replicate in another setting. There is little to no support on the course. There's no finishers medal, official timing or much glam to IRR. So, set your expectations accordingly and look inside yourself to see what you're truly capable of.

Anyone else have a spongy moth caterpillar infestation? My local trail network looks like late October with all the leafs missing. At least we've moved on to the riding-through-clouds-of-moths phase of the life cycle.

Yeah, a friend posted the trail was covered. I forget where he was, but NH or VT. Locally on the seacoast I haven't seen them...yet?

No moth munch in the MRV currently.

Looks like a stellar day for that IRR sufferfest.

Put the band back together and Lurker Jerry, Surface Whore, The Driven One and I are heading to Poultney for 3-4 hrs of fast flow.

    This ^^

We had a great time riding the uncrowded trails at a leisurely pace uphill while zipping down the flowing twists down.

    Always enjoy this view

Only place we really noticed teh moths was on Birdie, hundreds of them flying around, kept my mouth tight while riding to avoid sucking one in.

Rode the two new trails and they were "thumbs up" all around, so much fun climbing up and down. The last steep berm section of Bobs is so exhilarating, long blind arcs that are perfectly done unlike Dana Hill. Can't wait to ride it again.

No action shots as we rode the the old days in a tight formation until an obvious spot to stop.

Stopped in Brandon for Rollin Rooster chicken BLTs then LJ and I had a draft at RCAC

Things in here seem pretty quiet...I haven’t been on here as much recently, and chock it up to not being in the office for two years (slowly returning now two days a week), and not killing as much time on TGR while stuck in the cube, such as I am right now. Seems maybe others in similar situation, threads seem to have less posts. Hope everyone’s out riding instead of rotting under fluorescent lighting!

Does anyone want a free pair of 5 10 Impacts. Size 9. Barely used. Just getting dusty on a garage shelf. I prefer the floppy Freerides.
