Checking in after 2+years of almost no riding site to personal, family, and work issues.
Well settled now in the new job. Things are looking up and I'm trying to get back in the woods.
I'm in East Providence RI, with daily commute down 495 > 95 from Mass.
Vietnam in Milford MA is 10 min from my house. When I was riding more and now that I am again that's my home, (but for the most part my tures stay on the ground)
Wondering what else I should be looking into around Providence, Seekonk etc. now that I'm down there 5 days a week.
I could make an hour or two after work a couple days a week hsppen if there's something worth the time.
Haven't even Googled it yet, but will. Just wondering if there are any RI locals here with opinions.

22 NE - Just get out and ride
It’s been more than a few years but back in my Boston days we would ride Lincoln Woods and Diamond Hill in RI.
I was also down at the beach near Westerly last week and did some decent riding at Burlingame and Woody Hill too.
Quite a few good options down your way.

2 of my riding buddies live minutes from Lincoln Woods and they ride there a lot. They also speak highly of Big River, Diamond Hill and Arcadia.
We meet often at places about an hour from Lincoln to meet up for rides around Sturbridge down the Ct/RI border and there is fun places to explore.

Just a quick poll….is it worth the 2 years and I don’t know how many $$$ they put into that trail? I haven’t ridden it yet but general consensus among those I know who habe ridden it is that the money would have gone a long way on other trails. Just wondering.

I was a bit underwhelmed when I rode it considering it was talked up quite a bit by the builders and volunteers involved. Its 1/3 of a mile long and the vast majority of the trail is varying widths of bridges/skinnies - ranging from about 4-24 inches wide. The occasion bridge feature on a trail is welcome but it definitely gave me vibes from late 1990s freeride movies from BC. I had expectations of more steep, high consequence natural features like the new Six Flags at Perry or Visceral at Cochran's.
I'm not up on the current price of lumber but it has a lot of wood features so I'm sure it wasn't cheap to build. Bridges aside, they did incorporate a series of a few really fun, steep rock rollers at the end. My iPhone camera doesn't do the rollers justice, but these were great:
There are plans to extend the trail further down. At the end you can see where they're cutting what looks like some more rooty, rocky features.
Stowe has some really incredible trails and I will continue to praise the quality of them but, admittedly, this one was a bit of a head scratcher.

22 NE - Just get out and ride
We had a blast riding Stowe and Waterbury last week.
Rented bikes from Ranch Camp (ripmo af for me and yeti sb30 for Andrew) including dorky rental helmets
We got to ride Cady Hill a couple times and snuck in a Perry Hill around the wedding we were attending
Cady is always a blast and also liked the new uphill on PH.
We just missed the heat wave so temps were pretty perfect too.
flowers were going off
so many ferns
husband must hit every jump he sees
we took a lot of the little trail spurs to features
We also were able to make a quick trip to Bingham Falls where Andrew delighted everyone with his jumps

aaanndd then we got home yesterday and tested positive for covid today.
we wore n95’s through the airports and flights but we were probably amongst the 10-15% doing so. mild symptoms
I miss VT!skid luxury

That trail is impressive. Great loop if you ride up by brandon gap.
