Atomic Maverick 100 Ti thoughts
Hey,
Sold a few pairs of skis in the quiver, and find myself with some extra Duke PT 16s (with 100mm brakes that appear to only fit <101mm skis) looking for a home. This ski will be for 90% skiing inbounds at Whistler, and 10% for short tours for exercise at Seymour Mt near where I live. Perfect for a Duke PT.
I want a 179cm-180cm length, ~99mm-100mm underfoot, that is both fun and capable, that weighs ~1,800 gm. Prefer mounts around -7cm.
I was considering the Bentchetler 100 for this binding. But I own the Dynastar M-Free 99 with Pivots. So the BC 100 may overlap for inbounds. Want something that is playful like a BC 100 or M-Free, but with a bit more stability and edge grip. Thought about a Dynastar M-Pro 99 (127-99-117), but the -12cm mount fucking scares me. And the M-Pro 99 is is 1,900 gm.
Never liked any Atomics except for the Bent Chetlers. But the new Atomic Maverick 100 Ti checks a lot of the boxes? Only weighs 1,800 gm in the 180cm. Specs of 132-100-120. Radius: 19m.
Has HZRN tip for float in fresh snow.
Rec is approx. -9cm I think? There are marks on the ski to go +2-3cm or -2-3cm for mounts?
Anyone have any thoughts/experience on this ski?
It's not hideous like past Atomics:

Thread made me Google this ski, as I really like the Vantage 97 ti I have. The HRZN tip spooning looks tiny:

Overall, sounds like a softer Vantage, which is not what I want - every time I try a "easier, more accessible" version of a ski I like, I don't like the new softer version.

Anyone have any more info on the Maverick 100? I'm filling the 100mm slot in the quiver and it sounds pretty solid from Ski Essentials.

Primarily looking for inbounds use. Need a high top end but looking for the "playful charger" category. DD is MFree 108. Have Brahma for hard core groomer days and LP105 for days I want to hate ski the mountain.

My buddy bought a pair last year and he didn't jive with them initially but has grown to really like them after a couple of days to suss them out.
He's a good skier and skis pretty fast when conditions allow.
I personally haven't skied them.

Just here to say the M-Pro 99s rock. Hold a strong edge and they are fine in variable snow up to 12". Wouldn't call them playful but I ski them in the EC trees and they rip.
