Awesome! I'm stoked for summer as it is. That's one more reason.

I raced MTB at Giants Ridge in the mid-90s. If I remember correctly the US Biathlon team training grounds were there.

Back a long ways (1970s) we had a family compound strikingly similar to this on Lake Marion ("the santee") Same siding / color / pine trees and flat topography, Island, etc.

Could not have been more alien though, in that it existed only to escape SC summer heat pre-AC.

As an Oregon native, this could not be more alien. I get it. Sky view unobstructed by any kind of topography, unless you could trees. Water everywhere. And right now it's fucking Echo base on Hoth. Strong sun dog this morning.

Your Ton-ton will freeze before it reaches the first marker.

Then I’ll see you in hell!

Had some visitors to the ice today.

My friend has this backcountry flying cooking channel on Youtube. His segment today was pretty short lived as it was -3°F. The chili dog was nice and hot but the bun and cheese were roughly the temp of ice cream.

If you're hungry and it's freezing, why would you fly away from all the restaurants?

We live on the Iron Range, there's no restaurants worth going to.

But presumably he was at least closer to one before he got into the plane and flew into the wilderness.

Listen , I’m sure we’d be at the diner, watching the backcountry flying cooking channel on our phones waiting for our lunch.

Glad to see you back bio. Always loved the aviation stoke you brought and glad to see it hasn’t dissipated.

Starting to see your logic. But. there's just something about cooking dicks in the snow. It's fun. Today was fucked though. My pinky still hurts from fiddling with my phone in that cold.

And I've always held back to just pepper this place enough to counteract my JONGdom. Compensation, you know. I mean, it wouldn't take much convincing to post my 30 minute bush flying short film from Alas... no, I shouldn't.

When you're at a party, how do you find out if there's a pilot in the room? Don't worry, he'll let you know.

    Lol..good seein' ya GBB.

Yeah man, those were the days. And the ski bowl nights. Where'd you end up?

After lots of school in southwestern climes on the Army's dime I've ended up in Tacoma

Found a wife and some kids along the way
