I need a safe for weed.
No shit. My kids are old enough where I should be locking this shit up, especially because some of it is actual candy. What is the cheapest option that will keep my kids out but be reasonably easy for a stoned guy to operate? Doesn't need to be huge, maybe enough to store a few quart-sized jars or something?
I have never owned a safe of any kind.

Check Staples
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Agree on locked toolbox. It doesnt need to be Impregnable, it just needs to be hard to get into and obvious if someone’s tried.

Maybe not the simplest cheapest option but think about getting a fire and flood resistant safe that can hold documents as well. You can small ones that open with a key--the size of a large attache case. Plus it would be a shame if all your weed was to burn up with no one around to enjoy it.

What about a suitcase+luggage lock? That's assuming your kids aren't old enough to be actively trying to steal your weed. Otherwise, maybe something like this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/SentrySafe-...-Ft/5005453431

These are nice. I use for my Glock but the foam comes out and it can hold a bunch.

Also have a larger Bariska safe bit you probably don’t need that.

Sentry Safe Fire Box should do the trick: $25-$65
When I was 17 I had a friend whose mother used to "hide" her weed in the freezer wrapped in foil with a note "Special Herbs". There was always a pack of Randy's InstaRoach in with the weed. It was perfect: steal the weed one doobie at a time. We didn't even have to cut up an apple. Haha“How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world? No sweat dude, I’ll hold it for you. You’ll definitely get most of it back.

Or you could just put it in your sock drawer under naked pictures of your wife. That oughtta keep the kids away.

If your kids want to smoke weed, would you rather they pinch your stash or get it from some sketchy scene?

Pelican case with a padlock. At some point your kids will be old enough to recognize the smell.

You should set firm boundaries with your kids. No need for a safe.

I use Formline ceramic lined smell proof lockboxes.

They are great for sending cigars back home when I visit Colorado.

I need a lockable grow room that also disguises the fact that there's weed growing in it. Or I need to wait about 5 years.

Timely thread as I was just thinking along same lines w/ youngins around.
Had a safe from Harbor Freight in college. Can’t remember what I ended up doing with it!
