Two Snowshoers, Dog, Killed on Hoosier Pass

What we have here is an intelligence failure. You may be familiar with staring directly at that when shaving. .

Happened to be driving by today. Right above North Star Subdivision. Tragic, Caic trucks were parked at the top of the pass.

    Sad sad sad.
If Iím interpreting right and looking at right place on the map, that was a remote trigger from below on a 30ish slopeÖ although probably a bit steeper with loading.
Tough conditions out there. Stay safe all.
And vibes of course to family and friends here.

Summit Daily piece with a little more info: https://www.summitdaily.com/news/cri...-transceivers/

The focus on a lack of beacons seems to miss the point a bit - if they were both buried for that period of time the beacons only would have sped up the body recovery.

    Final report is out:

Relatively small terrain feature, but the crown was up to 10 feet high. Also check out the link at the bottom of the report: a skier triggered and was caught in a slide in the same location three years ago.
