Sad sad sad.
If I’m interpreting right and looking at right place on the map, that was a remote trigger from below on a 30ish slope… although probably a bit steeper with loading.

The focus on a lack of beacons seems to miss the point a bit - if they were both buried for that period of time the beacons only would have sped up the body recovery.

Relatively small terrain feature, but the crown was up to 10 feet high. Also check out the link at the bottom of the report: a skier triggered and was caught in a slide in the same location three years ago.
