Don’t know about that, but he said he was hoping for a replacement for Monster 88s but these were too soft.

I’ve never touched Monsters, but the flex on my 182 87 Comps is way burlier than anything else I own, and it’s not like my skis are on the noodle end of the spectrum.

Interesting, sounds like the AM not comps. I don’t have R87’s but have R99 comps and they are as stiff if not a touch more than the M88’s ive skied. My R99’s are a touch softer than my M82 green top sheet liquidmetals in the tip is all. That ski is a ski unto itself tho.

Marshal as well. I hand flexed em & would not call em soft….. shape is sick! Shovels more pronounced than the r99’s. Should be wicked fun.

Hey Marshall, are all HL skis at 1.5 deg base / 2 deg side? Thanks.

Currently a v-werx katana w/shift fills this spot as I know I can take it anywhere and ski any condition on it and have a blast, all the while be light enough to drag uphill.

If not, maybe steal another 'all rounder flatish/reverse' HL profile that is more amenable to different mounts? The '105' shape, and shovel in particular, would work super well as a wider sk IMO. I could use one of those for when my VWK dies...nothing wrong with the R110 shape either...

I like the idea too, and I'm sure MO/HL would come up with something stellar.

My 10yo Praxis MVPs get close to this, and I've travelled lots with them. Deep, subtle rocker lines, minimal camber, 26m radius, and 2000gr @ 187 110mm. As per the state of the art back then they're mounted with SollyFit plates for double duty. (Swiss cheese improvement project coming up shortly).

Yup. Good stuff. Have the construction in mind for it.

i could see a bit more directional 105ish ski that mounts around -10.5 and an “am110” type shape that brings the 110 foot print and the am100 near-reverse profile and mounts around -7

    right around 2000-2100g

i do really think that the very slight camber pocket, with long extended but quite low rocker vs a true reverse would really help the lighter build ride notably smoother on rough snow.

curious is that sounds exciting for folks…?

Exactly my feeling about the old MVP.

Just one human, but absolutely. The 110 with AM100 rocker sounds rad, potentially as a slightly rounder, softer snow version; and as floaty as that all mountain 105 shape is, paired with the right flex and profile, and I can think of a few that would match great, could be a pretty sick all rounder slack/short missions choice for directional folk. Interested to hear what others think.

I’d love a V-Werks Katana in a resort HL build! The shape and rocker of that ski are so great at pretty much everything. Keep the shape and rocker of the vwk but make it a bit heavier (or a lot heavier) and more durable. That would be money!

I’ve been sitting over here, quietly, waiting for someone else to say exactly that. Glad it didn’t take more than a few hours.

I'll play this round of Gaijin's Games. Haven't skied either the Beta or new profile...agree that the shape generally looks pretty similar, sidecut etc, but there is one 6.5 cenny difference, that has follow on effects on the shape. 'Modern' take on a VWK?! If Modern is synonymous with progressive, then yeah.
Can't wait for everyone to get on em. Gonna be a sick Winter.

It’s close but from what I’ve read will be more playful. The R110 is built around a -7.5 mount vs vwk @ -13.9. I haven’t skied the R110 but have the FR110 and it’s also softer than what I’d be looking for. (I think the FR and R have similar flex but don’t know for sure.)
