Very similar. Testing a few things on the 50/50 skis (full poplar + TPU sidewalls vs poplar/bambo + UHMW sidewalls) and that sort of thing

Yes, exactly, same rocker mold between the 100 and 110. Using the same camber pocket and edge geo as the AM100 shape, married to the same tip/tail heights and amount of splay at widepoints as the R110. She's a beaut, Clark.

Not sure which thread to post this in, but this is one that gave birth to the others.
I've been spreading the HL gospel wherever I go trying to make other people's lives better. I think the word may have, from time to time, fallen upon fertile ground.

So far this season I've skied:

    175 R87 3 days
    185 FL105 6 days
    187 R110 3.5 days
    187 R120ST 5.5 days

It's a funny when you're on your favorite ski everyday.
Officially the R120ST is my favorite, but that likely comes down to the conditions experienced when skiing those.
But seriously, everyday I've been out I've thought:

    "These are the best skis!"

Marshal, I tip my hat to you.
And to think I've got two more of your diabolical creations awaiting me when I return home.
    BWAAA-HAAHAAA!!!

We don’t see many heritage labs at Kicking Horse but when I do I’m super impressed. Marshall, do you only do d2c or would you consider getting in shops?

At the risk of answering for him (but he answered similarly not too many pages ago if I recall):
The small-batch reasonably-priced model really only works as DTC. Giving 40% margin to a shop would mean much higher minimum order qty. (i.e. a only a few models at most, kind of takes away the point of HL) and higher prices.

Right on! Happy to read your appreciation of the skis. Thanks for that.

I believe that the best shops are the hubs of their local ski community, so as a community built brand, I'd love to work with community oriented shops.

The caveat is that I am pretty early in the growth curve, and don’t have the resources of someone more established, so just want to be super up front and clear about where those constraints are presently, to ensure if we did move forward, it would be successful and durable ... or revist once those constraints recede.

Sent you a bit longer pm & more than happy to chat some time.

Oh Marshal…. Why do you do this to me. I really like boats.

Red waves under red skies. I hate how much I love this brand.

Happy to see the HBC topsheet get utilized after that ski never made it to production. I am musing the idea of something in between my FR110s and FR132s.... RC116s to replace my BGs or HBs for the the playful pop? Too many options...

Hi Marshal. Super cool company and have have ripper buddy who claims "best ski ever" on 110s. Just got preorder email and there seems to be a hole in the offerings. A more versatile (102-108ish) daily driver directional ski seems like it would be in your wheelhouse. Why no more 105? Specs looked awesome and based on thread here was very well received. With cochise being discontinued and every major brand going centermountish/tight radius it seems like the perfect niche based on HL's mission statement. Cheers

IMO they skied great at all of those locations, but I am really digging -9.25 myself. Super balanced, crazy quick, but opens up awesomely in soft snow. I do think the R110 and SE116 are more similar than different as a ski / use -- or really the SE116 is kind of a tweener w/ the 193 swallowtail and 187 R110 IMO.

I'm skiing the HB122 every low vis socked in storm day and grab the SE116 once the alpine opens / sun comes out as a data point. The -9.25 mount gives me the same amout of shovel (104cm) as the HB122 at -6.5 FWIW, which makes them pretty easy to swap between actually.
I like that someone does that same math about the amount of shovel. The 179 HB 122 and 180 R120 work out pretty close too.

    HB122: (183.5/2) + 4.30 = 96.05 cm

    R120: (179.6/2)+ 6.75 = 96.55 cm

Someone here mentioned how having HL ski’s means you’re always skiing on your favorite ski…owning the HB122, R120, FR110 and AM100 have cured my gear whoring.

    Haha. Actually…I’ve ordered the BC110 and UT122.

So I guess not cured it.

    Just focused it.
