I’d say the vertical buoyancy is going to be quite similar.
The tip on the R has more kick (radius) to it may pop up at a slightly slower speed, and deeper/gradual rocker of the FR tips/tails will track slightly cleaner in hot pow, but since they are both reverse and same footprint otherwise, I’d say these are rather fine subtlety vs the other stuff mentioned.
Damn these skis are pretty. Feeling good about the blue tyrolias given my lack of pivot 2.0 in the binding hoard.
One thing I noticed about the profile w/ base flat on a table - the angle of departure for the tail rise is really similar to my BC105s. Lots of other differences in weight/shape/profile, but I love the tails of the carbon skis and I’ll be thrilled if the production R110s share some of that ability to go from locked in to slarving in marginal snow.
There are lions and there are sheep. So, which one are you?
Skied the 187 R110 and FL116ZF’s in mid shin pow today at a local hill.

Initial thoughts 2FUNKY?
Rad posts all around! The UT122s are amazing looking.
Mid-shin pow?
I want that!
Unreal touring setup pretzel!

I love big dumps.
Conditions: mid shin higher density pow on a soft’ish base. Nuking snow to continue all day.
187 R110:
Mounted at -8. Didn’t touch the edges as MO wanted to see how I liked them coming straight from his hands.
The topsheets look amazing on the snow!
Scooted off the lift at the top and immediately noticed how easy they wanted to pivot with slight input. Crested over the rise on a skier cut up groomer and started making short radius turns. Oh wow these are quick. Next I threw them into a dift, well that was balanced and controlled so I rolled my ankles and went right into a carve. Nice and clean. Immediately went off piste into some skied pow over bumps. This is where they put a giant smile on my face. Slip between the bumps, air off one over 3, land set an edge and carve around a few, pop another over a few more, slip between some and just point it out the rest hopping over some then set an edge back out on the groomer, slide them sideways to a stop to wait for the girlfriend while I mutter, fuck yes while having a huge smile plastered on my mug.
Pow: tips always reach for the surface, tails never get hung up, able to pivot at any speeds to get around objects. Tip them and they carve pow nicely. So playful. The tips never do anything weird.
Chopped pow: they just cut through so well. Smooth out the piles or hop off them, slash explode them, players choice.
Firm skier packed groomer: tip them, stand on them and they flat carve trenches. Lighten up the edge angle and they release the carve beautifully.
Flex: The flex is crazy good. Skis stiffer than hand flexes, I was worried about the tips plowing but felt none of that nonsense. Tails are supportive but not punishing. Ski with the gf or rage with the homies, it’s all good!
Edge feel: since this is the R and the rocker was a lot more than I expected, it’s full rocker, just very low and subtle underfoot. I was shocked at how long the edge feel was. They never felt squirrely and have a big sweet spot.
This ski way surpassed my expectations, esp at 187 as I gravitate to longer ski. It is plenty ski for what I wanted. A quick, no new or stash hunting ski for tight trees and bumps with a balanced in air feel. They are beautiful!

190 FL116ZF. Mounted -9.5
Same conditions as the R110.
I made about 5 runs on these towards the end of the day. Pow was very cut up with some new in the troughs as it nuked all day. Since it was my first day on snow I was concerned about having legs left.
Same run as on R110’s first run, same line.
I brought them up to speed and immediately went left off piste into the powder bumps. Slarved two big turns through the bumps, aired off one landing right on top of another 3 bumps down only to survive like it wasn’t there, zero fucks given. Made three quick turns through some bump troughs then set an edge carving right through soft pow bumps, zero fucks given. Decided to air the next bump and go straight through the remainder of the soft bumps set an edge back to the groomer and carve RR tracks down the groomer hauling ass, zero fucks given. Stopped to catch my breath. I just sat there laughing for a bit. Headed to some lower angle pow and just slithered, slashed and made any turn shape I wanted, zero fucks given.
The tips are beautifully stiff and are like scalpels that always track true, never delfect or fold, fuck I tried and always come to the surface. The ski is super balanced off edge and how it floats. It doesn’t tail sink like a pintail as it’s not, the whole ski comes up, tails never hang up, the rocker and tapers are dialed. Cannot wait for good vise and a steep line to just pin it and drift giants turns down a line, drool! It skis slow really well and pivots beautifully through tight trees. They feel like a fat gs ski on groomers and just rail turns, large glorious radius turns. They are murder missles when called upon yet will also play and go slow just fine. They are not sluggish or overly damp and dead until insano speeds. They are super balanced in the air. They are the ski I envisioned when I approached MO last winter about such an animal.

Yep. I'm getting a little emotional reading 2Funk's description of both of them. Pardon me while I go off into a dark corner and lament the fact that I own a pair of neither. Be back in about a half hour or so.
Wow what a lineup. Those UT122s are my fav topsheet of the bunch. I guess I may as well throw in my $35 now in case another batch comes around.

estimated weight of a 183cm UT122? How close does it get to the Lotus 124cm Tour 1 that it might replace? I never weighed mine before mounting but stated weight 1670g. Weight isn't everything, but it sure is nice to cruise uphill on big skis.

They wound up between -[emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji639]].[emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] and-[emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji640]]. So close enough. I think these will be the replacement for my [emoji637][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]][emoji639] Corvus which have been retired. They are heavier with more tip splay and way more splay in the tail, the Corvus splay was almost non existent. If we get enough snow out of the big storm and through Thanksgiving I’ll try them out [emoji637][emoji637]/[emoji638][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]].Originally Posted by Sylvan;[emoji[emoji6[emoji640
