    Hi Ville,

there are a ton of options to set it up. Pictured is long (up to 190cm) free pro on the 187. You can see the strap is quite long, and that I retrofitted the BD tail clip to snap and lock in the cutout (thanks GSGF, awesome tip!).

The next size smaller skin (up to 180) should fit flawlessly too, if you go for the BD clip mod. The cutout is 9cm long, so functionally you need a skin for a “178” ski.

i tried a bunch of tail clips, they all worked (g3 twin tip, pocmoca stock and twin tip, BD as pictured), but the BD stock is my favorite, fwiw. I just popped a hole in the rubber and fit the clip thru. So easy and secure.

Would size m pomoca free pro (165-180cm) be enough?

Straight pull along the base on my BC120s to the swallowtail is ~178cm. You'll be really cutting it close on the medium.

Edit I see the main man beat me to it.

just to talk it through, with the BD clip, you are punching a hole anyway, so I figure that the 180 max length skin would still have 3cm or so of tail after the clip. Can't say for certain since I don't have one here, but pretty sure it should work.

With all that said, I loved the setup imaged above last season, 10-15 days on em that way and it would be my default setup, since its tested and verified to be full-blown-awesome

I am planning on using some Jones Quick Tension clips I scored last season (if I can find them lol, they are in some box somewhere in my shop). I also have the new Pomoca metal tail clip incoming and based on fondling those they should fit in the swallowtail better than the plastic version.

Looking at the difference in rocker profiles a few posts up, and wondering their difference in on snow feel.

Has anyone noticed a major difference between a rocker profile that is one gradual radius (like the above 120R) vs the radius that tightens up into a more traditional tip shape towards the end (like the above 120bc)?

Are those FR120's or R120's? Can you give some intel on how they differ from the FR110's especially in our maritime snowpack.

Anyone else get a 95comp? Holyyysmooookez the muthafuckas are boss. Stout and straight. Gonna be super fast. More ski than the 99comp, no doubt in my mind. Hope to mount within the week.

Both are FRs and the 186/187 length. These compliment each other very well - to the point I heavily considered buying BC110s. The FR110 was a perfect less than 6"/day after PNW ski. They slay anything soft/manky. One of my favorite days on them last season was night skiing in the rain at Alpy with a few buddies. Made an otherwise soggy evening so much fun! The 120's are amazing pow skis that you can rally all day. They have noticeably more float than the 110s, are chargey but playful, and don't get knocked around in tracked out much. Hate to say it, but kinda a Billygoat killer. I have a pair of 2014 BGs and hardly skied them last season. I'll be bringing the 120's to Japan in January, and think they will be the perfect ski based on pervious trips.

    hey dude!

so a couple quick comments here. Mc_roon has the bc120 from the spring beta mold. A bit more tip rocker and a bit less tail rocker. Production bc120 use the r120 rocker molds.

as it relates to the rocker lines there are a couple of key factors.

    1. contact length - the earlier the rise toward the boot, the more laterally loose & later the rise, the more stable/engaged

    2. splay at the wide points - the bigger the gap, the easier to pivot, and the smaller the gap the more the ski wants to track

so for example, on the beta rockers you can drift into and vary turn shapes, rip across the fall line, with a nice gas pedal out of turns, and a super stompy tail. Kinda like a more soft snow optimized Corvus.

Thanks for the intel - I can confirm the 186 FR110 is super fun at Alpental whenever the snow is even slightly soft. I had a few days where I wished for just a bit more flotation but only in >10". I guess I need to start saving and budgeting for the FR120 to help balance out the quiver.

Thanks Marshall for this passion project, it's been super fun to watch it come to fruition and ride the amazing skis you are making.

I believe there were eventual (shipping related?) complications there that makes this an unlikely repeat.

    Yeah, I think so.
The skis turned out great though (I have a R87comp from that run; trenches).

Chalet sports in Bozeman has 105s. Just bought. Seems to be sitting on heavy pivot inventory

The bigger/longer the naturally curved rocker profile is the more 'surfy' a ski will be & the easier it will be to break it loose and smear in softer snow. The more abrupt transition on the production r120s should make it easier to just roll your ankles and get more locked in.

Just pulled the trigger on some R105s for inbounds daily driving duties mostly @ Palisades. Stoked to try them. Was having trouble deciding between the R110 and the R105. Like to go fast and straight so thought the R105 might be the call. But if there are other thoughts - maybe Marshall would let me change my order...

Yeah man, not that the R110 is a slouch in any way, but the R105 is faster and straighter, so sounds right to me! Of course happy to change if needed. But IMO great score.
