This thread seems to be a bit more active than last year. Diggin' it.

Bob- love the Blackstone. I bought a two burner last year and having fun with it.

Bonewrenched - that top photo is stellar.

Comms are set at Salmon Fly Base Camp. I'm here until they kick me out.

2022 SHITTY FISHING PICTURES AND TALL TALES OF THINGS THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN

Ocean trip this year went quite well. Given the unseasonably cold weather and ocean temps, not much was running before we arrived in Nootka Sound, the seas rough, and the rains heavy.

First day out was just our guide, wife and I. Water was a bit rough, but we reeled in the first big Chinook of the season. The locals got excited.

We also broke our 3yr dry spell and got a nice 77cm halibut while trolling off the bottom for ling. Both chinook and coho were also running. On the way back to camp, the prawn traps were emptied.

This set the trend for the next 2 days out, the seas were calm and weather civilized. In the decade I’ve been coming to this camp, I’ve never seen it so quiet at the dock. Very nice, but some of the usual characters were missed.

Of course the real work began once we got back home. Two full days processing the catch, and my wife spend most of another with the canner for the soups.

And some salmon caviar to go with the breakfast eggs.

Probably our best harvest yet. We cut back on the days out due to the rising costs and were prepared for a smaller haul this year, but we were pleasantly wrong. Freezers’ full!

It’s pretty obvious who the utarded burnout is.
Btw, have you been back out on the Thornapple lately?

2022 SHITTY FISHING PICTURES AND TALL TALES OF THINGS THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN

Lurk in here but don’t post much. Lots of great fish pics d00ds!!
Rarely chuck bugs anymore as I went over to the dark side years ago. I’ll bust out the fly rods erry so often tho, just prefer gear these days.
Here’s a few “not trouts” from this year.
My fishing non mag homie, we missed being in the money by 1.5lbs. Ugh. Took third with this ‘eye.

I’m surprised the smallmouths didn’t puke up like six minnows each when you got them on board.
