I have a fishing license so I can go clam digging, and I figured, why not try to catch a trout in the local reservoir (Central Oregon).

There's a guy in town that breeds big ol trophy sized Rainbow trout, and he has an agreement with the city to release them when they stock. It's kind of a right of passage in this small town to catch one of his fish.

I've got intel on the stocking dates, so I'll most likely paddle out and cast from my canoe.

I'm going to Walmart to get a basic tackle box together, and I was hoping to get a bit of advice on what basics I should get?

Oh hey SFB! Nice to see you again. I was at your house last year lol.

You know that Freeride World Tour ambulance driver girl Abi you sold the pin bindings to for $50? I went with her to pick them up in case you were dangerous. But you were real nice and installed them for her in your garage.

Thanks again for that. It was a real homie move.

    I'm going to Walmart
There’s got to be a local hardware store that sells basic fishing stuff or a General store near the reservoir. Go there and they’ll tell you which hooks and which color power bait and bobbers to get, and you can kill your trout.

Wisconsin is thawing out and fishing has started to pick up quite a bit and is only getting better. Been a really good last few weeks and probably have at least 2-3 more weeks of safe ice and by then we'll be able to get out on Green Bay. And the stoke from everybody has me fired up to actually catch more than just bluegills on my fly rod this year!

Nothing better than fresh Wisco perch! I used to fly stick smallies in sturgeon bay. Really good fishery.

Great pics guys! I'll get a camera that works one of these days.

I had a nice 5 day stint and hit 7 different rivers. Than tonight I get back and talk to guy who is all interested about talking fishing and proceeds to tell me he exclusively "tenkara's".

Holy shit I've heard of these people but thought it was a joke. I could barely walk away without spitting my whiskey in his face.
