Never been to Whistler Blackcomb before,, What do I need to know?
Headed up to Whistler tomorrow, never been before. What should I know before I go? Best Restaurants? Easiest place for groceries? What the heck is breakfast on the peak?
Anything to avoid?

In all seriousness, your timing is great, you'll get dumped on based on the forcast.
(In Centermeters and Celcius):
Figure out what zones to ski when the alpine lifts don't open. It takes some time (or days) during storm cycles to get the upper lifts open. AC control is extensive.
Resturant are world class, but struggling with staff shortages. Make a reso if your group is more than 6.
There is a small grocery store in the center of the village, a big grocery store at the North end of the village, and 3 other grocery stores in outlying neighborhoods.
On Whistler there is a 1700 seat restaurant at the top of the Village Gondola. They have a program called "Fresh Tracks Breakfast" It use to be a buffet breakfast, but with COVID its a voucher to buy some something from the restaurant. They upload the first 650 ppl for "breakfast" at 7:00am, and once Patrol says its safe, they drop the rope and you get around 2 runs on the mountain before the public get up the lift. People line up stupid early on Pow days for this.
Avoid skiing to the base, once you're up the mountain, stay up there, don't ski down to the base area upload shit show.

the waffles at the crystal hut are overrated imo. They're not even real Belgian waffles, at least not Liege style, which are the only Belgian waffles worth eatng. IMO>
As far as things to avoid--if you ski Couloir Extreme in low viz, definitely avoid skiing into one of the enormous pieces of broken off cornice near the bottom.

if you are from California: Whistler is cold, and cheap, and not busy
If you are from Alberta: Whistler is wet, expensive and really busy

for rad amateur night, definitely check out the boot.
get a breakfast bowl at portobello at the furmont to cure that hangover.
Stay above mid station both sides of the valley. But do a top to bottom run at least once. Saddle-Raven/Franz on Whis or Peak to Creek on Whis. Basically any frontside (Cruiser,Honeycomb, Ross', Lower Stoker,Jersey bowl etc etc) on Blackcomb depending on grooming report. All blue, chill and fast.
100% ski the glacier on Blackcomb if it opens up. Check out the ice cave, easy to find just look for all the coloured gophers popping their head out of the snow.

If you are on day tickets you should def ski a closure. Xmas Chute, Armageddon, Weekend chutes or anything on Blackcomb Peak. Ask patrol for directions. If you they catch you, yell TGR and ski as fast as you can.
