I signed it Dunderhead.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Signed. I fucking hate vail. It was the beginning of the end of park city when these ass hats took over. The first year was an understaffed disaster on all levels…with the exception being the “yellow suits” on of which sat on my lap getting on payday and then tried to get me kicked off the hill. Just because you’re a fucking snowboarder and didn’t look next to you on a full chair doesn’t make it my fault. He was lead away by the lifties yelling at me while the crowd jeered him.

Petitions are great, but really the only way to speak to these types is with your wallet. Until things change, friends don't let friends ski Stevens, and they certainly don't let them buy epic passes.

forest service
The forest service should immediately revoke Vails License to manage and profit off this chunk of our land. They have proven incompetent and are hurting the local economy and culture in innumerable ways. It should be transitioned to a non-profit business structure with local management, expanded, mass transit provided, employee housing at the summit, profit sharing for all, all the old employees who quit or got firedd brought back, and Vail should get the Fuk out.
The problem here is the Forest Service is corrupt and pimping our land out to mega corporations who don't give one fuk about anything other than maximizing profit. They are colluding with these mega corps to create a monopoly for them. Well past time for us skiers to boycott, unionize, form new co ops, quit, go touring, make new ski non profits, and stop being corporate sell outs, anything but support these disgusting mega corps.

It’s a luxury sport. Always has been. We absolutely need a proletariat movement to stand up to these corporations who have taken advantage of what is largely the wealthy elite. Defiantly a great use of the forest service’s times and public doll hairs..

The stevens Pass IG is a commenting dumpster fire right now.

Sure, but the folks on the other side of that IG account are not the problem. They are resort level employees who genuinely love the mountain and frustrated with Vail.co management decisions. Sure they might be able to show Broomfield a print out of the comments but a season of being beat up for things which aren’t your fault isn’t good for anyone’s mental health.
Change will come when Vail doesn’t get to turn on one of its prized trophy’s during a peak vacation week.

Well, that is what makes it a nonprofit, any and all profit above operating cost is redistributed to employees. This is one of the tenants of Marxism, where ya been?
As for the forest service, they can be and are required by law to be an economic driver for the proletariat, instead they are pimping it out to these monopolies. This shit is super basic if you have a PHD in economics, like me. Teddy Roosevelt set this all in motion a century ago and he would roll over in his grave if he saw all that land locked behind gates.

You have a PhD and you don't understand capitalism. You are also misunderstanding the role of the USFS, its not a conservation branch, its a resource management branch of the US government. They're in the business of selling the forest.
Fuck Vail, but it's really capitalism that's the problem.

Pat of managing that resource is conservation. As well, the resource is to be managed for the benefit of the general populace and to provide recreation for everyone. It is there to provide economic benefit for the most people, not to be monopolized by mega corporations who do not answer to us. By it's very nature, Forest Service land is an exercise in socialism as it is supposably owned and managed as the commons by all of us. It is true per se that they are in the business of selling the forest, but we are the ones to choose the how, where and why of it all. In this case, vail is obviously a poor concessionaire of our land and needs to go.

I have a feeling a few of you mostly agree but are about to embark on a giant derail about what the forest service is vs what it should be. How about focusing on the points of agreement and what could be done to achieve our goals?
I've gotten more and more radicalized over the last decade watching what has happened when we allow capitalism to run wild rather than use it as a tool for the people. The people local to Stevens pass shouldn't be bound to the whims of a giant corporation far away. Yes, vote with your dollar right now. Also vote with your vote.that's all i can think of, but i'm sure there's something else...

Here is an idea, maybe everyone so heavily invested should list realistic 5 goals. And making the Government build ski lifts and ski areas isn't one of them and is an example of insanity run wild.

capitalism is the problem. Vail is a symptom.I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.
