Wikipedia says it has a carbon carbon fiber heat shield that can withstand 2500 F. Maybe the outer part of the sun it’s flying through isn’t as hot as the core? What’s really mind blowing to me is that it will eventually fly like 430,000 MPH. Fuck

It was doing 383k mph the first pass. It will take 7 more laps as far out as Venus to slingshot through at that max speed.
