For $100 more I'd go Steamboat powder cats all the way.

Also fuckin' hell..$650-750 for a day of cat skiing. That's $75+ per run. For 4 days of that you could fly to Europe, ski, eat, and be merry for 10 days.

No idea on the actual experience with the guides/cat operation but I sled ski and tour in the terrain fairly regularly. If you want top notch skiing, there are better cat ops in Colorado. If it's for a bachelor party or something, I'm sure you'd have a good time.

I agree with all of your comments.

    Three complicating factors:

1)Steamboat is booked all February per their website. I plan to call and see if they have any cancelations.
    2) visiting family in WP, this the opportunity to sneak out for a day. New house there for them and would be inappropriate to convince them to travel elsewhere
    3) traveling with our 6 year old boy while mom and little sis stay at home because Lil sis baby get Vax yet and won't wear a mask for an entire flight

That being said... pivoting to a more ludicrous trip could be in the cards many places I would MUCH rather ski

Are there any other cat or heli ops are within a couple hours of winter park?

Vail Pass is the only other nearby cat op I can think of, and I'd do Jones over them. Steamboat over both.

If you tour, I'd just do a day up on Berthoud, personally.

Wait until the last minute and if conditions are good, go for it.

Aspen Powder Tours does a nice job and if it’s not good, they don’t go.
I buy a lot of seats at fundraisers and average $250.
I have four seats on 1/21.

    Jones sucks until March.

Steamboat may be booked now but with shit snow the cancellations will happen.

For less money we can get you 2 to 3x the runs and get you high and drunk in the Backcountry. Then we will eat your children or steal your girlfriend. Plus you'll smell like 2 stoke when you are done.

Now that sounds like an offer I can't refuse. I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning, afternoon, evening, in the woods behind my house, in my garage, on my clothes, etc.... braaap

Thx for the heads up and offer! 3h20m drive from WP won't work for me . Square peg in round hole problems here.

If simple and Skidooo crew eat my children, girlfriend, and wife then I can meet you in aspen ... the sounds of freedom

Are you looking to sell one of those seats?
