CPR/Surf Rescue Course, HMB
FYI: A combination CPR and surf rescue course is being offered by the Half Moon Bay Parks and Recreation Department. October 22, $45/$48 about 7 hours.

Took this class Saturday. There was a wait list so another class is likely to be offered, maybe in a couple months(?). Contact Mark at surfpulse. CPR part was standard, HMB Fire guys were good, funny and had many experiences to relate to the course. Many CPR as well as general first aid "What if.." questions were asked and answered. The surf/water part was good too. Lots of hands on work with a partner in the water.

It's been bout 12 years since I did the course so I could use a refresher...
Here's the cliff notes version
The gnarly part was finding the xyphoid bone in the sternum area ...if you fuck this up you could crack their ribcage and puncture their lungs. Hello lawsuit!
