Christmas albums that don't make you want to jump off a bridge.

Playing a Dave Brubeck Christmas right now, and it is rather pleasant.
What else can I play and not go crazy? I do like the Manheim steamroller stuff as well.
Peanuts is always nice as well

The Edge of Christmas is a compilation album released in 1995 by Oglio Records. It features Christmas songs with a general new wave/rock theme.[1]

    Track listing
"Thank God It's Christmas" - Queen
"Please Come Home for Christmas" - Pat Benatar
    "2000 Miles" - The Pretenders
"December Will Be Magic Again" - Kate Bush
"Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy" - David Bowie and Bing Crosby
    "Winter Wonderland" - Cocteau Twins
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" - The Smithereens
"Run Run Rudolph" - Dave Edmunds
"Christmas is Coming" - The Payolas
"Fairytale of New York" - The Pogues
"Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight)" - The Ramones
    "Christmas Wrapping" - The Waitresses
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

Some annoying cuts, but a bunch of good ones.

Christmas albums that don't make you want to jump off a bridge.

    Also of course Vince Guaraldi

    Beach Boys Christmas not bad.

    Sinatra

If you’re a Dylan fan Christmas in the Heart is essential if not borderline comical. Tradition around these parts.

Christmas Funk by Aloe Blacc is one of my faves. The rest of my family doesn't care for it but screw them

Phil Spector Xmas with the girl groups is my favorite, followed by Jackson 5 and anything Elvis.

You gotta check out Joseph Washington Jr. - Merry Christmas To You
    And
    Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings - It's A Soulful Holiday Party

If your family can't get behind that there's always the Blowfly Christmas album...

    ^^^ Ha ha; Fear rules.

Though unfortunately brief (I'm not sure the whole CD even lasts a half-hour), the Ventures Christmas Album is a lot of fun (and with each song intro calling back to some old rock classic).

Then there's this... A fine Greensleeves is the best thing on the album:

Every time that I spend Christmas at my in-laws this is playing:

    This too:

Proposed to my wife after listening to a performance of this in Salzburg:

    She said yes.

Sufjan Steven's "Songs for Christmas." Great 5 cd box set, but you can stream it here with this playlist too. Merry Christmas, friends!

Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

    Charles Brown

    Cool Christmas Blues

I listen to it year round. And I don't like Christmas music.

Well, unless it's Andy Williams totally over singing with the frothy horns.
    But that's just common sense.

The whole album is great. On Spotify.

My regular rotation every Christmas. No sappy. Just clean fun.

My wife was playing traditional Christmas and my son said Santa baby sucks ass. I agree. And Mariah Carey needs to go away.

When you're having a real shitty one there is nothing better:

For albums I like Beach Boys, Funky Christmas, Ella Fitzgerald (the older one is better), and "A Christmas Gift For You."
