LOLOLOL. Wonder if it's a proper boot board. Know that's something that is omitted from a lot of tour boots in the effort to save weight, or using that area to make up for clog stiffness lost to weight savings. (first gen gen sportiva carbon skimo boots have a super stiff and light foam in the toe and heel joined by a super thin piece of cf as a boot board) That was something really good about the ZGTP was actually having a modifiable bootboard.

Even though I can say that I don't know details about the boot I can confirm that some of their athletes have been testing it for 2+ years. Those buckles could use a bit more design to them though. At least add some cutouts/ texture to the grip area of the buckles to improve UI.
TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

Honestly. Especially the not so über days in the 25-40cm (I don't ski in less than 25 ) range ski better on 122...if you have space....and don't have to carry them up.
I don't think it Matters as much in 50-60+ of perfection.

Atomic’ a new version of the Backland looks interesting, swapping a buckle for the Boa. It could compete with the F1 and the new MTN Summit. Any reports on how it skis yet?

So for 22/23 there will be a new Tecnica, Salomon, Scarpa, Dynafit and Atomic boot who are all in the same range regarding weight, flex and intended use? Anyone I missed?

Does anyone have weights on the Tecnica Peak Carbon yet?

    So then,

Step 1: make the same boot

    Step 2: make it red

Yes there is a full boot board… but that’s not what I was referring to exactly.

Weight is 960 and 990 for the two models.

Maybe not. I was in a touring shop and the bootfitter mentioned that Atomic was coming out with a new boot in the all day touring category in addition to dynafit (TLT 10). I looked up the Atomic Catalog and they expanded the versions of the Backland. The Backland UL series uses the existed BOA closure system and the Backland Series has a new Crossalce closure system on the lower shell with a little added weight. No flex pattern ratings published.

I'd probably rather have an actual speed nose than a front welt. If it's a not a full Alpine nose long enough to be compatible with shifts, then the only reason to have any extended welt is for full auto crampons? I guess I'm not the target market for this feature since I'm not climbing WI4 or 5 in my touring boots, but I'd rather buy into dynafits talk about touring pivot efficiency and have the pins moved farther back and use semi auto crampons.

Blue, blue boots sell. Or that’s what the atomic boot guy on Blister gear podcasts said.

    No more Boa?

Can anyone who has skied this comment on whether it has more stability and "stiffness" than the current version?

Same clog and cuff as but the BOA version is now called UL Page 44 and there is a difference of cuff fastening and liner

    So:
-Backland Ultimate (skimo version where the clog, and cuff is the still gen1)
-Backland UL (BOA version of the Carbon, Pro, and Expert with a single f1 style cuff strap, and same liner as before)
-Backland (Buckle and cable version of Carbon, Pro, and Expert with power strap and ladder buckle on cuff, and burlier liner)
TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

12 different backland boots all with the same last - i.e. no ultra/prime last width distinction!
Seems overkill but maybe they just sell a crap ton of them every year to justify that.
