Also, laterally cabrio are very stiff as the lower clog extends much higher up the leg than overlap.

The updates on NS also sounds like the krypton is still around for at least one more year. Hopefully longer!

Should be beefier…hence my cryptic message earlier in regards to the supposed growing mass differential between current Hustle series and new coming Rustlers.

Saw some pics on Instagram of new Atomic touring boots for next year. Believe it was an Ultra XTD with boa and a pretty interesting looking Backland XTD 120. Should have bookmarked it or something cos I can’t find it again now. Anyone else seen them and got links or intel?

I’ve been in cabrios for a while now (krypton’s and some of the nordicas when they were around). I feel a cabrio has a very progressive flex and is extremely smooth when you push into it. Two piece boots feel very linear to me, the stiffness you get off the top end of the boot when it flexes is the same as the full travel of the boot. Also, three piece boots are so much easier to get on and off. Yes, that sounds lame, but I enjoy watching my ski buddies struggle to get their boots off at the end of a day.

Thanks, guys. I think I'll just go all in and buy something that fits. I've been curious for a while and I'll take your word for it.

The Backland carbon 120 XTD looks to fill in their light touring quiver slot to compete with the F1. I wonder how much it weighs. Since Atomic fits my feet well, I’m very interested in it

The bigger dial to generate more torque kind of makes sense. A nice big target for a rock when booting though.

Looks like it has some kind of release adjustability, maybe even gapless too

I'd be pretty surprised if it was over 450g even with the brake. Every other company manages to make a full featured tech binding under 450g...

I’m guessing with the Uspring still there, it only has lateral adjustments and a fixed vertical. From the photo it’s unclear if there is a flat mode or only pin height and high. Interesting for sure. I like my MTNs but have been ATK curious as of late.

A lot going on in that heel…

I agree it would be a big miss if it was over.

It looks beefy for a u-spring…

I have to say the MTN is a good binding, but it does wear over time. TBD on if my ATKs wear too…

There’s a new Volkl in that Newschoolers thread that looks almost like a Praxis Protest.

All u-springs do wear. Been using my Trofeo's for a few seasons and they show wear but not enough to change release characteristics yet.
TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

Any news on if the last changes at all on the new XTD boots?

For my feet at least, it's the only boot in the class that's low volume enough to fit my feet somewhat correctly, but I could really use another 5mm in length.... (which would make them similar in length to most other boots in the same size)
