I know. I feel like the price must be off by an order of magnitude or something. I realize this is somewhat remove, but it's only an hour drive from Glasgow and there's even a train station a couple miles away.

there is a different process for real estate transactions in GB

the inspection is paid by by the current owner & certified to a price set by that inspector for 6mos. If the property last that long on the market, the inspection has to be redone/recertified.
(often that number can be suggestible by an ambitious listing real estate agent)
they don't do earnest money, but series of three offer letters that get more binding to the third/final one for contract
and, yeah, "starting at..." is the number the inspection service put in there

meh… too urban for that much cash. neighbors will need to keep their distance. not even enough room fer a decent moat round that lot.

something like this would surely be superior at keeping the hoi polloi at bay whilst simultaneously maintaining at least the bare minimum of comforts to expected for folks of our newfound monetary status… and coming in at less than half the price. remember, you don’t stay rich by spending all you moneys!!

Built in 1907 was definitely well and septic. Probably added an underwater electrical cable at a later date.
The problems for islands occur when the local health departments,start to require all septic systems, to be connected to a municipal sewer system.
