The measuring of male wedding tackle made me lulz. Also, sloppy boots would be a great band name. Or a sordid entry in Urban Dictionary.
To add yet another data point (because reasons), I wear a 10.5 or 11 sized US shoe and I've been skiing a 26.5 shell for several years. This is primarily due to a very wide forefoot and the need for extra room that comes with a bigger shoe or non-ski boot. But for alpine ski boots, I require a low-volume ankle pocket and need a wider forefoot, so that's usually a MV boot with some forefoot punches to accommodate my girthy forefoot.
Oh, and the new boots are allegedly a 140 flex.

What liner are you using in the XT130 LV's?
I think I only tried the 130RX's on once or twice in the living room with the stock liner before I sold them to another mag. I use Zipfits in my alpine boots, which use very thin material in the forefoot (it's basically just shearling and neoprene), so that took care of any issues I may have had with toebox height. I also don't use the forefoot buckle on my boots. It goes on the loosest setting that will keep it on a ladder and not flapping around while I'm skiing, and that's where it lives.
I can't quite recall but I think my foot did feel a little squished vertically with the stock liners in the boots.
FWIW, I skied the 26.5 Lange RX130 with the 100mm last for several years before I got the LV. I could ski those things straight out of the box with stock liners, Zipfits, Intuitions, or 6 pairs of trekking socks and be pretty comfortable, but the slop in the heel and ankle area bugged me, hence the LV's with a little forefoot stretch.
I also had a pair of 26.5 Vulcans that made me so miserable I left them next to a dumpster in BCC. 27/27.5 shells for touring just work better for me. I don't need to be able to feel the shell with every part of my foot while I'm touring. That's an instance where taking up some volume with a thicker liner works for me. YMMV.
