I've been hearing a surprising number of people wanting to ski the Pinner right now. Personally, I'll wait.

Miss that place. Hopefully I will be down there second week of May for some corn harvesting and especially a couple of nights up in Rock Creek.

Thanks for those pics! Things look pretty great right now. How high up is the corn growing?

Not sure, hit McGee on Sunday and haven't been higher. Buddy got corn today on Aggie. We've had zero winds, so I would think any direct solar aspect is gettin the harvest. Obviously the main detractors are oblique sun angle and short days.

Why wait on Pinner? Days too short to get soft?

    Eastern Sierra BC 21/22

Interesting big horn obs. I remember learning about an avalanche in the 90’s in the pine creek area that took out over 10 big horn in that herd.

Stoked to see snow in the high country (and ice on the bigger lakes).

Is pinner getting enough traffic for a zipper line?

Thanks for all the beta. Once the wind goes through this weekend I think I’m going to make the drive down and hopefully find some corn and animal sacrifices.

Doesn't appear to be skiable top-to-bottom at the moment.

Good stuff frush! Yesterday was our first day down there this season. Snow wasn't the worst it could be and winds were only bad at the very top of the couloir. That said, I was booting in a puffy and shell and wasn't hot.

    That a rad photo Alex!

Don’t have much to add, Saturday with cold temps and wind on tap, decided to go to twin lakes to play on the ice, brought ski gear in case it looked like things may soften, they didn’t

An incredible thing happened around here last week. North facing and otherwise sheltered slopes below treeline got soft! Cold, calm, clear nights have turned on the facet factory! Sweet sugar to be found everywhere! Praise be!

How's the snow pack looking? Wondering how things will be in the back country in two weeks. Hoping for more snow in the forecast

Has been getting pretty grim though coverage really is quite good considering. Hoping this weekend delivers what they're forecasting. And if the pattern shift continues then things could be just dandy two weeks from now.

Backcountry was as good as it's been in 2022 so far this past weekend. Unfortunately, these past few refreshers haven't done anything to fortify the snowpack, and with a dry long term forecast and things heating up later this week we are gonna see pretty rapid deterioration.

Thanks for the update....and the stoke! Needed that fuel for motivation - rumors in Tahoe are of sadness and blight everywhere on the East Side.
