That was a heck of a sleeper day on Snowmass if you paid attention to where you were going.
10-12" of fluffy snow in the dark timber of the glades and in Baby Ruth. Anything that's been sunbaked was scary fast and loud underneath and OK.

    Fluffier snow than I anticipated.

Groomers with fluff on the side were also tasty.

    2021/22 ASPEN/RFV Condtions

Just had a 90min window from the house to run up to Highlands. Steep n Deep and G2 still skiing incredibly good at 2:30; Snyders too, even with warm temps. Fluffy winter turns that you could rip on. Should be some excellent north facing turns again tomorrow

    Snowmass was really good!
Got off BB, just as they opened the Cirque. Immediately ran into Harry Smith.

    I thought this was hilarious.

I hadn't made it out to any of the Aspen resorts in 2-3 seasons but made the drive Thurs night and Highlands yesterday did not disappoint. Left with tired legs and a huge smile on my face.

I got lost in some trees somewhere off High Alpine today skiing solo, ditched the wife and daughter to explore. They kept getting tighter and I couldn't figure out if I need to go left or right so I went left and then right and back left and the snow got heavier as I moved lower but eventually found freedom from the forest to meet the girls at Alpine Springs. Always cool to be in a new zone, clueless AF.

Really a fun day. Even the ice bumps were in play late. Had never stayed and skied slopeside at Snowmass before today. 10/10. Thank you Ullr.

Good stuff Ugly and good timing!!

I ended up rolling three laps in the Bowl: one Steep n Deep and two down White Kitchen. All untracked and no one else skiing the B’s below Ozone! G2 was choice as well and just one other guy in there. Clouds broke on the second lap; really special afternoon with great snow. It’s going to be good up there this week!

Pearl basin area was pretty magnificent this weekend. Fresh foot or so and zero tracks in sight aside from a few critters. Snow got a little funky from sun and wind but the right aspects skied beautifully the whole time.

The “three different types of avalanche problems” thing we got going on right now was very true based on our observations so we kept it mellow

    We're having quite the winds.

Looks like the gondola is/was on hold. All the peaks looked nice and white this am, now they'll be stripped off on the NW aspects.

Skiing was actually pretty good down low. Coverage is great and it never really froze solid.

But the wind was howling, it was a little gray bird and there was lots of debris on the slopes.

Looking like a nice spring cycle coming up this weekend!

Amazing Band playing at the Belly Up tonight. Ghost Light. If you like improvisational rock and roll, you will love them.

$45 for reserved is pretty reasonable.

$795 for John Fogerty and it sold out.
    Crazy.

Are these prices for the Belly Up? Stupid expensive. Don't miss Ghost Light. All originals, sounds like Radiohead, Frank Zappa, and Grateful Dead had a menage baby.

Reserve pricing for the fancy seats with table service. General admission is usually 1/2-1/4 of the reserve price
