Both kids doing ASK programs this year. older one wants to ski with us more and younger one needs one more year before he jumps on the predevo/devo train.

How about that construction? Hour long waits on both sides of town. What an absolute mess.

    We have:
-CC bridge expansion joint replacement with the West End detour
-Paepcke Park bus stops with one lane on main street
-Hotel Aspen construction and powerline replacement on Bleeker
-Asphalt paving from the CC bridge to the ABC starting next week

Yeah, it's the rip the bandaid off option.

When you defer so much maintenance on roads, it adds up...

You also didn't list the CDOT maintenance crew at Shale Bluffs.

How do you think folks would react if a well-dressed, late middle-aged man dropped to his knees in the middle of the Hyman Mall and re-created Seldom Seen's prayer scene from The Monkey Wrench Gang, only substituting a "pre-cision wildfire" for a "pre-cision earthquake?"

Every time I set foot in that town it's harder and harder to resist the temptation to do just that.

"Listen, are you listenin' to me? There's somethin' you can do for me, God. How about a little old pre-cision type earthquake right under this dam? Okay? Any time. Right now for instance would suit me fine."

So much fun commuting lately. Although, this morning I didn't have my two small children and all of their associated crap in tow so I was able to take the bus in from Buttermilk (coming from SMV via Owl Creek) and that is the smoothest method I've used thus far.

It seems pretty hit and miss. No traffic when I went in Friday, not too bad on Monday before school rush, after that school rush it seemed to take a while.

Bussing is a good idea right now (I mean, it typically is), moreso than usual.

I'll be in town Sun.-Wed. If anyone wants to get a beer or hike the dogs or just throw the ball in the rugby field, let me know. I'll be the guy with the sexy blonde and beautiful Chessie.

I bet the leaves will change a significant amount while you're here. Late start but the cold nights and snow up high will help it all along.

I'll bring the dogs in for a romp, one of these evenings. Ruggerfest finals are Sunday, so that's out. But you might want to catch it, it's a good time!

Drove to CB and back yesterday, one stand of trees has started to change, but the big ones have not really. I imagine we'll have a lot of fungus on the leaves before too long.

We had to drive home from DIA last night (missed our connection at ORD...). Really spotty colors, just a little yellow here and there. But still a little snow tucked into the shadows around Bakerville-Leadville from last week's moisture.

Will have MTB back up and running for this weekend. Hopefully some leaves will remain on the trees after this next set of rain.

Trails were nice early, but got greasy, when it started to rain again.
Late afternoon and tomorrow will be great on Sky Mountain and in the Park!

Finally caught the Vid this week. Haven't been very sick, but have been hanging on the couch. Hoping to get out this weekend when the sun breaks!

Hope it was a quick turnaround.

Leaf timing this year has been crazy.

Looks like summer/fall will come to an end and is there enough snow to skin and ski fall begins.

Most up valley trails will probably be out of play after this first real storm, we'll see. This is about when Rifle comes into play as great riding relatively close.
