Yes, so nice here and a good respite after most of the last five years. Reminds me of early summer 2014; really not getting above 80F until July https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/...th=6&year=2014

I have a bud that rides an Ebike from Marble to CB.

Agreed, freaking amazing summer so far. Haven't even had to open the windows at night yet in Snowmass. Some smoke-free July pool weather would be ok with me though.

Last nights Thursday night concert was a fun one. That crowd can be so lame to get started but the massive congo line toward the end was fun to see as we were boarding skittles on the way out.

All that work they did on the roundabout really improved the traffic situation getting into/out of Aspen.

    I mean… July in Aspen = traffic.

Even a straight-shot approach onto main would still have a lot of traffic.

The roundabout project was to replace the constantly-failing asphalt with concrete that will hopefully last a decade or two without maintenance.

    2021/22 ASPEN/RFV Condtions

Roundabout project was never about improving traffic flow.
Until we get two lanes both directions all the way in and out of town we’re going to have the ridiculous backups.
Quite comical though that they completed this fancy new concrete roundabout to the tune of several million dollars then deliberately damaged it by grinding into the surface to remove the temporary lane paint lines so that it looks like sh!t

The grinding of temp striping is one of my least favorite activities on projects I've run... but you really don't have too many options, especially here.

    And what was said above.
This was to replace the surface and to better channelize the traffic into and in the roundabout.

Traffic is still going to be there. You aren't STUCK in traffic... you are traffic.

2019 (I think) was really good too, but this year, all aspects, all elevations I've found really nice flowers.

Gents, we're planning to come over to Snowmass tonight for the concert. Are there any food vendors in the venue or just the food options on the mall?

    The rain is helping.

Anyone know what they’re doing with the huge pile of dirt under the Snowmass Gondi?

As for the dirt, my first guess was that was spoils from the snowmaking project, but not sure why it'd all be there like that.

    Damn he’s looking buff!

I’m ready for skiing (mainly driven by the fact that I’m off the bike with a busted hand). But it’s been a good opportunity to spend more time where bikes aren’t allowed

Either spoils from extending the snowmaking lines higher, and/or repairing the sewer line from elk camp for the 20th time in that same trouble spot near the bottom of funnel headwall.

Its to repair erosion from snowmaking above it. They are going to redo the snowmaking above it once the bike park goes to 3 days a week in Sept but the FS wants them to repair the erosion too. I guess they had fill dirt from a construction project down in the village so they went ahead and started on the repair. My neighbor said they are planning on putting in some french drains that cut across the slope.

Anyone know whether Matsuhisa will be doing a Monday night football/eat upstairs at the bar and watch the game special this year? If so, anyone want to meet up on 9/19? Any other MNF suggestions (although what can be better than Matsuhisa sushi)?
