    2021/22 ASPEN/RFV Condtions

    4pm, right?

At 10pm we’ve got almost 10” having fallen at Highlands and a 16” storm total. Starting to accumulate and thickly here by Buttermilk.

    Expect great things!

I didn’t read the actual language of what was passed…but in the AT articles, it appears to state as long as you are not demolishing the structure or increasing height or size, you can still do renovations.

Don’t think they are gonna stop you from redoing your kitchen….

I think you are right. I know I read that somewhere, but I think you are right.

Finally loaded at 9:20; no skiing below 3 or Couch. Bombing out the dumps for avy risk. Upper lines will be a mess for a few hours.

Highlands will be wild tomorrow; might come out for a afternoon bowl lap once the madness and ACL’s have given out

Can we just talk real quick about how much snow Buttermilk in this storm? lol

Daughter has AVSC Saturday at Snowmass and wife has the locals clinic Sunday at Ajax. I am honestly not that concerned about missing any powder from this storm. Most places this was on top of zero base. Now, next weeks snow on top....then the season is on.

I went up and down the Summit Express side. The groomer made a couple passes by 9 am. Not sure about Tiehack.

Aspen Mountain was very deep, but cold and real low vis. We went Easy Chair>>Blondie's twice and gave Northstar a lap before I had to bail. They opened the lower half of the mountain at 10:45.

Some heavy duty fracturing and snow moving around. Decent bomb slide down the gut of Corkscrew.

This is the little cliff below the Couch; from a patrol cut. Fractured above the ski cut as well...:

Was Ajax crazy heavy as well? Tiehack was kinda hilarious, it was difficult to move at times (and I was on Hojis)

It was challenging skiing. I was one of the first down Copper and back up Bell chair.
I went back up at 3, hoping they would drop the Face. But no joy.
    Getting really cold and windy.

Yeah it was pretty heavy as well, compared to our typical CO champagne. I was struggling a bit on Volkl One’s when things got low angle

Crisp, beautiful morning to kick of the weekend

What a great week. Re: coverage… where the snow was before is amazing right now. Where it wasn’t needs another two or three storms. My legs aren’t ready for getting sendy in that whipped snow though. Got my first few pow turns and good bump runs, need to keep it at that for now.
