I haven't seen anyone strava that yet... I'd out and back from the sunnyside side if you were really that curious. I bet in a week most of that is good to go.

Funken rides up that way a decent amount.

Same, I haven’t seen anyone up high there. I’d guess still pretty patchy with snow and downed trees. Buttermilk is looking almost prime though.

Headed out for my first Sky Mountain lap here in a bit!

RE: Hobbit/SS - Definitely still enough snow to make it not worth riding. Even north Tootsie Roll still has snow on it. I would also assume there are lots of trees down based on every other trail I've ridden.

I’d love to take a lap with you guys, but I’m stuck on dog friendly for quite some time.

Is anyone still skiing? Did anyone make it up indy pass this weekend? wondering how the snow is holding up in the area.

Yes. Little winter refresh up there. Less snow than other seasons at this date, so I'd suggest skiing it in the next few days.

There was a provision in the Gorsuch Haus approval, that the pool must be public. I believe the same is true for all large hotels in town like the W Roof top and the St. Regis.
Shadow Mountain’s pool is down for the renovation. So I’ve been using the back gate off of Monarch for the St. Regis.

Tried to make it happen Monday, but my partners bailed. Sounds like lots of people skiing that day and some so-so, wintery snow. Looks like as of today it’s back to funky spring skiing, but I’ll try again this weekend. Need to get one more day, even if shitty.

As others have said, Indy pass is pretty bare this year. I’m normally up there a fair bit but after riding up early last week I decided I couldn’t be bothered going at all. Some friends video especially during and after that weekend precipitation made me rue my apathy a little but then I went for a bike ride and got over it.

Go up from the condo or the back as I’m not sure we have the gate open. Last I heard they were saving some of the snow plugs

Thanks again for everyone's help with my previous questions.

I'll be visiting my wife again early July and we are hoping to do the 4 pass loop.

Since permits were likely booked up months ago, i can:

-book the county bus and hope we finish in time (pickup from aspen highlands at 0800; last return bus is 5?)
-emailed a private company (start time between 6-745; then get a county bus for return)
    -option 3 is...?

curious if anyone has any other local knowledge?

    thanks

I get back from Hood River on the 11 th.

You could park at my house and I’d give you a ride to the West Snowmass Creek trail head. Catch the bus down from Maroon Lake and back to my house.

I did a variant of that last summer with the help of our friendly local CB mag 14 kids and I was shocked at the actual logistics and the amount of people. I am so glad I peeled in for a different loop, but what I saw was mayhem.

Still, it is undeniably stunning, and I camped illegally under snowmass peak for one of the best nights of my life and didn't see a soul.
