$3 sure isn’t going to cover the armband, RFID card and having customer service take 15 minutes to enter him in the system.

We have it way better than any other place in the US.

I don't uphill or whatever it is called up plenty of places in the US have cheaper access. For example https://www.winterparkresort.com/the.../uphill-policy I don't have a dog in the fight but that's a pretty bold claim.

    2021/22 ASPEN/RFV Condtions

Villa Olivia in Illinois is $18 for 300ft.
Cheaper is not necessary better and neither is Winter Park.

ASC kept grooming for uphillers till May 12, 2020 after they closed the lifts on March 15 due to Covid.

$10, $15, $20. I’m not arguing against the season pass, just that they should have a day pass as well. Definitely one of the best places in the country for uphilling.

I don’t disagree. This is the first year of them charging anything.
I’ll give them a pass for them taking care of us in 2020, when most resorts closed all access on 3/15.

VR also booted all there J1’s in March, when they couldn’t even get back to South America.
ASC let them stay rent free and fed them till they could get back. The last one was in August of 2020.

I've almost hit a deer, ermine, fox, and a few other animals... never an elk! That had to be a little spooky.

Highlands was skiing well today. Some funky wind stuff here and there though.

I feel confident at about 90% speed on groomers and 75% in chop. I'm going to mount up some new 106 under foot skis now and see how the chop and pow starts to feel.

How was the cover? Might be able to get out for some afternoon laps tomorrow and debating bringing a new pair of skis that I’d rather not completely destroy day 1

Amazingly good, but there’s always big shit you can hit at Highlands.

I’m thinking of hitting it again tomorrow.

Yeah, coverage is pretty good but it’s not new skis good yet for me at least.

Yes, but we have those softer red sandstone rocks, as opposed to that crusty granite shit at the flagship mtn.
    It's like a geological thing.

Either way, the snow we have will be absolutely devastated by the Christmas Crowd. Get yours now while it's good. And then hunker down and harvest what you've sown.
    We can re-emerge in January.

    Feliz Navidad amigos!

Cool! Heard it was surprisingly good up there yesterday.

Highlands and snowmass need a lot of snow compared to the crown jewel for good skiing.

Eh.....the christmas crowds will be good for the snowpack. Hopefully we get that Christmas storm that is forecast and then all the tourist pack down the trees for us. Let them take the logs to the shins.

I try to hold the new sticks off till January; too many core shots from over-zealous December Highlands skiing

Shred - were you rolling down Castle Creek in a white GX towing a sled yesterday afternoon?

Highlands was fuckin awesome today! Way more than 4-5” up high. I skied mostly untracked snow all afternoon in DT. Bowl will be great tomorrow in the G’s I got in there right before it closed for the day and there was still tons of untracked snow

I knew neither of these things, thats pretty cool. ASC does have a sort of mom and pop wholesomeness to them in some ways, and could be a whole heck of a lot worse.

I guess I'll probably just fork out the $70 to help support this struggling (Crown) family owned ski area, but I'm sure if one were to be unaware of the pass policy, it woudl not be immediate charges for theft of services when caught, but rather a request to buy a pass I'm sure.
