In Search of Ramer basket(s)
I lost a snowflake basket from a 3rd generation Ramer pole. The center hole is big so the local ski shop doesn't have anything that fits.
Center hole is 11/16" (17.5mm, 0.69").
Does anyone have a basket they could spare? (say from a broken pole, they are rather old)
Or perhaps there is a stash of Ramer gear somewhere.
Cheers,
Al

Name fixed.
Any Ramer enthusiasts out there?
My poles may be heavy but they are sturdy.

Buy these. They will fit any pole, if you have a heat gun.
Matter of fact, any basket will fit any pole with a heat gun and duct tape.

Super glue breaks. And, you want the basket to spin. Thats why you want to heatgun to make the rubber/plastic malleable, then you shove that puppy on their as far as it will go. Then wrap a 1/4" strip of duct tape beneath the basket thick enough that the basket will not slide down. Voila, you have now fit any basket to any pole.

Had another basket come off yesterday, fortunately snow was frozen rain crust and I was able to find it. The inner ring of basket (see picture) had broken so basket fell off easily. Poles are about 25 years old so understandable I guess. When I got home I pulled the thick plastic tip off the metal pole (with some effort) and I will now see if BD or Komperdell tips will go on.
