PM Gear 188 ? on Ebay my listing

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/224691558276

I bought these directly from Pat several years ago. I mounted some Griffon demos and took a few runs at Mammoth in poor conditions and never got back on them again. I'm not sure exactly what model they are and was hoping someone here might be able to give me some clues. I'm sure Pat told me at the time but as I remember materials, shapes, flex patterns, topsheets, etc. were often mixed and matched in the quest for great performance.

Anyone interested here make me an offer and I'll cancel the listing if we can settle on a price.

They look very similar to a Lhasa Pow but dimensions are a bit off. A weight may help you sell them to certain people. Some of these were pretty dang light which make them a decent touring ski option.

    Dimensions look like it's a 187 Fat.
I had one, good ski; pow ski but can still rail groomers.

I'm sure they're not Lhasa Pows. I've had two pairs. Still have the 186s.

Kitchen scale says approximately 2000 grams or 4lb each. Not sure where that falls relative to touring skis.

    Thanks for the feedback.

That seems to ring a bell. I recall that they seemed to handle the groomers just fine.

To me it looks like a lhasa fat based on tip and tail shape

They are 187 Lhasa Fats with 188 top sheets. I owned the 187 but with the black carbon with blue graphics top sheet. Absolutely killer ski, skied pow really well and fuggin railed trenches in groomers.

I had the black carbon with white graphic.
I think the 187 was the 187 Bro Fat.
While they share the shark nose of the Lhasa, it doesn't have the pintail dimensions.
    IIRC Lhasa @ 112mm (and Lhasa Fat @ 117) were 186,191 & 196.

    They definitely rail trenches.
@ OP feeler: trade for 189 DPS Koala?

Yeah, sorry, white graphic. 187 Fat. True about it not being a pinny.
Also owned the 191 with blue graphic, mah brain farted there.

    Oh, no worries!
I wouldn't be surprised if there were some black/blue 187 Fats.
I don't think there were dedicated color combos for each "line" of skis; e.g. Lhasa, Kusala, Bro ... (Except maybe the Bya)
Just different phases of topsheet design, plus using what's avail

    ... able in the shop.

Like this one with the semi-retro(?) Bro topsheet.

I have a set of brototypes Pat sold me of those as my touring setup, unfortunately they have been skied and repaired so much that the bases are now paper thin. They are pretty much done. Luckily I have a set of 183’s stashed away to replace them, but they are one of the best touring skis I have ever had and if I didn’t have a replacement already, I’d be all over this.
