Kai through the treed faces early, big Teton lines middle, and the SageMac last segment worth the price of admission. Good seeing you folks

    I'm giving it about a C+.

All the pow seemed to be about 6-12" deep, nothing too blower.

For me, Kai had the best lines. His skill set has accelerated lately it appears. The rest, meh.

A handful of sweet lines here and there, the Jackson shots are always appreciated. If I never see a Durtschi twisty flipper again, I'll survive. His crushing fail at the base of CC was even better than in real life. Broke his arm when it looked like he shoulda broken his face. Didn't even stick the entry.

For me the POV shot is always preferred over a drone shot. I wanna virtually ski the line with the skier, not watch them from afar.

The kid's planking contest was nowhere near as awesome as last year's plank-off.
The little girl up front insisted on a one armed approach and MC Magoo ended up giving her the skis in less than 2 minutes.
It was a weak approach and there were at least 40 kids still planking their hearts out.
I was disappointed for all the kids who were obviously trained up for this ski giveaway.
She was about 6 years oldish?, weighing maaaybe 45 lbs...the skis were a good foot taller than her.
They used to throw many giveaways out to the crowd, nothing this year.
    Shows slide into weak again.

Nice seeing you all. Agreed it may have been a bit long, lot of people seemed to lose interest toward the end. Pretty blown away by the Kai segment, he is skiing on another level.. at 15? Hope he can remain healthy, he’ll be a fun one to watch further develop.

I think ski movies should be capped at 30-45 minutes in length. I black out at around 15-18 minutes of ski porn.

Anyone ever see an old ski film called "Sinners" by Bill Heath?

I saw it ~20 years ago at the Banff Film Fest and had a DVD copy that got lost somewhere along the way.

It was short — and also captured a real vibe of skiing pow/with friends.

    Here's a trailer.

    Wish I could find it!

If any of you haven’t had the Mongolian Beef at Teton Tiger, DO IT.
It’s pricey ($32), but Oh. My. God.

Fun fact: Zoo Thai in Missoula is somehow related.

From their menu "FROM THE MINDS OF TETON THAI & TETON TIGER."

Yep. I think it may have been the pinnacle as far as ski films go.

Oh, nice. That reminds me... I think, via libraries, there is a way to watch videos online. A number of years back I was able to find something pretty esoteric; there's a way to access ALL libraries via a single library membership.

Fresh snow on the high peaks. We will be skiing the Grand soon! Time to start the 2022/2023 thread?

edit saw that you posted last night, maybe we were in there at the same time? we sat at 7:30, left at 8:30 last night in a booth. Perhaps you are the dine and dasher . Those are not my adidas in the background.

dammit i just saw this. Went to teton tiger last night and had duck red curry. I'm usually a shitty chinese mongolian beef / general tsos person but wanted to do something thai because I was at a thai restaurant.

the duck was a a big piece that was fried in something red and the curry was great. Wife did the kim chi fried rice and liked it a lot. $100 bucks for the two of us to get out of there (1 cocktail, 1 beer, 1 app, 2 entries) but you're in jackson baby.

couple next to us who looked like mid 40 something outdoor people dined and dashed lol.

the duck is one of my favorites there.
next I go for the Ramen, which they took off the menu for a bit because of the “complexity” of it but have brought back. But I will have to try mongolian beef next time-that looks delicious

Lol, we were celebrating my kiddo’s 15th birthday with four of his friends, so that would have been an epic dine and dash! We arrived at 6:30, and were probably done around 8. Wifey and I were at a table on the south side, next to a 6 top of some hedge-fund douches.

Rideit- we are well overdue for heuvos with extra salsa and an extra tort with hash browns.

Edit: really, a few tacos work too

    Group dine-n-dash at Nora's?

I did this once as a youth. Once.
The sight of four of us sprinting to the old Capri, which took a few cranks to start, followed by the cook in his apron wielding a big knife, musta been hilarious to the other 2 am patrons.
Two of us didn't even know what was going down until about 5 seconds before the game was on.

They did not offer the lingonberry pancakes tho.

Seven years ago I bought the DVD from this website: https://cargocollective.com/billheath/Sinners-1 I know it looks sketchy and like it won't work, but 7 years ago, it looked the same, and about a week later a DVD showed up at my house. Just ordered another copy since an ex-roomate scratched the crap out of my old one. Truly the best ski movie ever made.

We've got a furnished 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom Sage Hen condo with 1 car garage in Victor that we are thinking about renting seasonally/annually. How much is fair to charge? Anyone know good people looking for a place to live?
