    Not quite!, but we did pause at the bottom to appreciate how lucky we were that our "Wednesday" would have been the best run of many peoples' lives. It's not lost on us.

    Hah!

    Happy skiers are the ones I like to ski wit!

    I have a hard time accepting compliments — yours feels like a bit of an overstatement as we've got REAL pros around here, but thank you!

    Glad to contribute!

    The photo below was from Thanksgiving—rare photo of me in the couloir, taken by my friend. I'd shared the "just the tips" photo with him from my adventure earlier in the week. We got some new snow Tuesday night and he wanted to go back.

    Despite there being more snow, it didn't ski as good as the first time. Oh well! Was still cool.

    Sure there are protogs here but they don't really post much. When they do, it's some superhuman pro hucking a big windlip into the golden sunset or something. I appreciate more the "everyman with a good camera" thing that you do, skillfully taking fun shots from the daily adventures.

    I agree - great photos UAN!

    I know, "mount your own fucking bindings", but just in case any recommendations for someone to mount a set of Fritschi Tectons on either side of Teton Pass?

    Well... wow. Thank you.

    I'll take that. I mostly take pics of friends because I enjoy the memories later on and they are usually stoked to have photos of themselves, yet sometimes I wonder whether it is worth it to post them.

    I heard rumors of a wiggle forming, but guessing the cats flattened it out.

    Heh, thank you. Considering how messed up my feet are, it wasn’t too bad. I think cranking them down for ~30min intervals while watching tv has helped a bit.

    Will be out on Friday morning for a few hours before a PT sesh in town. Hopefully they’re still open!

    The goods were real odd today at the Ghee. I'd post photos but I've been too busy taking stupid videos of myself skiing poorly and don't have any.

    I'd be pretty surprised if DC stays open through the weekend if we don't get any new snow. They're obviously doing the best they can with what they've got, but it was pretty hilarious coming down the TVT when the bottom third is dang close to just being a gravel road.

    Subbed for Wydaho stoke, and hope to make a trip up thattaway sometime this year. Stayed with rideit and got some laps in with Ski220 last year, hoping to meet up with a few more of yinz this year. Won't make the JHBBI22 though, Teh Spousal Unit's 40th is at the beginning of the first week of that so we're either heading to Sedona or Cuba. It'll be rough, but I'll get through it.

    Sedona or Cuba. Now that got a loud laugh...

    We'll be stoked to turn with ya mag. Lookin' forward to it.

    UaN - bring that photo stoke. You're setting a new standard around here.
    I don't know too many folks skiing that quality snow , yet willing to park it and snap a quality shot.
    For being as hit and run as you are, the compositions are inspired.
    My money says you've already got a following. I also have $2 says you're older than full trucker, son. heh

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I can't remember the last time the village had so little snow to start a season. It's not bone dry and they're keeping the one run, Moran, open with snow guns and grooming. I'm guessing it's about 1800-2k vert.
    For what it's worth, with the fluctuating temps, it's very much like a spring corn cycle. If you can hit it right, you can get 20 laps in on decent to good carvy sugar and potatos.
    From opening on turkey day, which was crowded and sketchy, to yesterday, the snow has improved 200%.
    Less peeps on the weekdays was nice too. But the average skill level was intermediate with a lot of them ready to race. The locals were getting a workout for the legs, polishing technique or try outs for ski school.
    Sorry I missed ya BBear, holla.
    I'ma be out tomorrow, hope to see EoB before the crack o' noon. We can compare achy feet.
    Everybody's been complaining about achy feet. Not sure if the warm temps help or hinder that. First week, whatever, right.
    Right Lindenle? How's them new boots treating ya?
    Text me to turn tomorrow.
    Do we need to get together and burn some skis?
    Just walked by the continuum hotel and they covered up the TGR logo with a rattle can of black top coat, apparently skid luxe doesn't pair well with sage hospitality.
    SKY AREA MAP COVERS 2500 ACRES
    Can anyone proofread anymore?
    Anyone grab a printed map? The typo is on the web and the app.
    Took a few laps today. Skiing was as good as you could hope for considering how warm it was. Maybe more schoolers hanging around than skiers.
    Walk on chair to the one run.
    CS- the mountain map at the base area has it spelled correctly.
    2500 inbounds acres isn't really that much, comparatively, but prolly 99% of it is skiable; some places have hundreds of unskiable acreage. Shite trees, rocks and terrain traps.
    JACKSON '21-'22 ~~ w/the 'Ghee, the King, The KC, the Creek and the Passes
    I’m going to be out tomorrow morning early, 8:30-10:30/11, hopefully beat the crowds? They still loading Tewe and AV at 8:30?
    Curious what the snow conditions are gonna be like. The problem with teh groomerz in cycles like we have with all the man made is it doesn’t really get to full on corn, more like sugar, and it doesn’t condense down when a cat runs it over. Was out for a bit this afternoon and the sugar piles on the pitch immediately beneath Teton were skiing nice and getting the bump form warmed up.
    If anyone is planning to ski shoot me a txt, I’ve been notoriously bad about checking here lately.
    Thank you. I wasn't sure how I felt about that shot at first because I wanted it framed a little wider/higher (but I'm not 12' tall!). It's grown on me more and I appreciate your comment on it! Means something to me.
    The 10 day forecast is looking bleak.
    Next several storms are forecast to go south or north of the Tetons. Hopefully that changes.
    Yeah. Parallel was riding really nicely yesterday. Looks like we're gonna get just enough snow this week that there's no more mountain biking, but not enough to redeem the skiing.
