I've said this many times...
The Mother Nature side of the JH equation is pretty amazing. The Human Nature side, not so much.
I blame the mountain Engineer. One of the longest employed guys out there, he's been dumbing down and pussifying the hill for over 3 decades.
If a skier can just put on some blinders, and get after it, it's still pretty epic. Just in different ways.
Jeez 220, that's some quality coloring; no pre volcanic activity.

Yeah, and Mickeys left hand should clutch a dollar sign, with drops of blood falling off of it.

What’s up with the contour lifts. I don’t get it.
Thunder was fine. What the fuck does contour add?
And yeah. The nut shack was sweet. Grab a drink or snack without dropping down. Or since it’s demise, without going up to the Bridger shit show.
Mountain is going to be so weird with high speed. Oh well. Shit changes.

I would imagine to cut down on wind. The chairs up high seem to blow down a lot.

Thunder rarely has wind hold.
Up top my guess is to encourage people to go left or right. But it was never that hard to skate left. Oh well.
Dynamite and greed can fix anything.
That doesn’t need fixing.
At the bottom I don’t get the contour.

Well, independent on the dumbing-down of terrain at the resort, Jupiter sure is shining brightly in the night sky these last few nights. You can see Saturn, too, with the naked eye.
Here's my shot of Jupiter and the Moon rising over Crystal butte, East Jackson. Jupiter is nearly 600 million miles away tonight, and the moon is ~240,000; helps for perspective.

Sweet. To the naked eye this morning Jupiter was amazingly bright.

While in Brown's Park, fishing on the Green, BobMc introduced me to the phone app 'Star Walk'. It's dark down there.
You guys should check it out. It gives you global positions of most everything in the sky, day or night.
I been eyeballin the planets all summer now.

Visited in-laws in E. WA a few weeks ago and they had a nice Swarovski spotting scope on the deck. Could see the four Galilean moons of Jupiter, along with the planet's ring, red spot storm, and bands of color in the atmosphere. Made me look again at nice tracking mounts and telescopes.

Anybody going to the movie Saturday? I'm in for the early show and will be wandering around before with a $15 sierra bottomless cup

Yeah I'm going, it looks like rain is likely; ready to see some deep pow lines.
I'll park in the Cody lot like last time and we can connect w/other mags showing up.
A $15 sierra cup ? That'd buy a 6'er, yeah?
I'll expect you to be sloshed by showtime.
BB & SJ, EoB+1, Schwerty, SuperG, lindenle, Passholer, Westslopers?
Let's party!

Is early show the consensus? Should be able to make it happen.
Honestly wasn’t interested in skiing until this week so this is good timing

we may see you guys. My mom is back in the hospital (on going thing so nothing new) but we're more on the "see how things pan out" plan these days.
but I'd also love to get a few laps in the bike park too and would love to see you all to kick off the seasonskid luxury

It was high quality ski porn. But honestly about 20 minutes too long. They even made fun of themselves about it in the film “I know your tired”. But overall some amazing stuff in there.
