The lighting on this pic is insane. Maybe my favorite from a stellar year of pics.

Your shots continue to inspire every day! I've still been getting out at Targhee quite a bit for morning laps! Today was absolutely stunning! Click image for larger version.

    Wow that is kind.

I've been meaning to create a physical book of images from the last 2 seasons to share with some frequent ski partners but cannot seem to get my act together on that.

Thirded. The skier shadow. The low cloud. The high clouds. The dead tree. All around excellent.

Have you sent any to skiers journal? Maggot guy

I’ll fourth or whatever that photo. I think the long, summer light makes it unique over typical winter shots.

Definitely a nominee for Best Photo of the Year contest.
I am so glad I visited here today.
I am thinking more about warm weather activities and my annual paddle on Jackson Lake.

Thank you. That's very kind. I wouldn't know how to go about that — the (few) times my work has been published have been when I was asked for it.

    Recommendations/connections welcome!

Ok. That’s straight up nasty. Lol.

Search for the ski journal thread. Send the mag a pm. I forget his handle.

I’m sure you have a few top photos they could publish.
Most are big lines and drone photos. But plenty are close shots with good lighting and framing. You have some very publishable work.

Edit. It’s Wibby. Pm him and I’m sure you have a few pics for the next issue.

I did some work in Rafter J last week and drove past that deer multiple times.

I'm amazed it lasted this long there. County's usually real quick to pick up the roadkill.
    Maybe it's wydot messaging?

And almost no one does the 55 through there since it went 5 lanes and I rarely see anyone pulled over by a trooper.

I don’t know how quick they are with road kill outside of the park. I will never forget the dead and stiff horse that lay by the welcome to Jackson sign by Dairy Queen for four days November of 2013 🤣🤠

WYDOT in Teton Country is the only office in the entire state that has bothered to pick up roadkill in the past but due to staffing issues and the dump unwilling to take carcasses due to CWD it is no longer as much of a priority.

Yeah, you get a lot more mileage on that stretch into town than me, fosho.
How fast do you go between Rafter J and the 40 mph sign before the light?

Can't say as I recall that but mebbe.
That was a tough month for me, so it coulda slipped by. Friend had a stroke and my Mother died of Cancer, the same day. I was rather externally unfocused.

Interesting, so roadkill everywhere else just sits at the roadside? Makes sense in all but populated zones.

With all of the local hwy speeds being adjusted for animal collision issues, I'd love to see some hard numbers on how many dead, what type and where.

    Hey Teton Valley mags,
How are the trails looking over on your side? Going to be up in the area later this week and would like to get out for a bigger ride. Maybe a loop in the bigholes? That stuff rideable yet?
    Thanks!

You can do bigger rides if you're down to walk through a fair amount of snow. As far as I'm aware, none of the normal "biggish rides" in the Big Holes are even close to going clean right now. I'm still riding out-n-backs on the clearer trails. Mahogany, most of Drake, Mill Creek, all go as out and backs right now. More may be open by the end of the week though. Caribous are good to go for mileage though.
