The only reason I watch the Olympics is to see what Johnny Weir is wearing. And his hair.
If they brought Doc Emrick out of retirement to do the hockey, I would watch that.

Re: commentators, Dave Letterman’s mom’s interview with Mosley after he won gold was outstanding. He was high as shit and I have no clue how being Japan and all. Talking about how thick Japanese bread was to her. Priceless.

Tom Green in Torino interviewing non-English speaking fans was good too.

Especially when they build venues in places where it doesnt snow.

It almost didn't snow in 1960. There was nothing until right before opening.

    No, I meant, like, ever.

Gawd, the Olympics are so fucked up.

"IOC officials warned in the bid evaluation report in June 2015 that Yanqing, the venue for downhill skiing and slalom, and Zhangjiakou, the venue for cross-country skiing, ski jumping and snowboarding events, had meagre annual snowfalls. “[They] have minimal annual snowfall and for the Games would rely completely on artificial snow,” they said."

Ben, I for one look forward to your breakdown of the river of Yen flowing to the IOC that led to these (very admittedly absurd) games.

Once these are done we can move on to the World Cup in Qatar.

Even when they choose a place like Vancouver, BC, which has some of the snowiest mountains on earth nearby, the actual venues are down low where it doesn't snow and they have to truck in snow. They don't want natural snow for the events in the Winter Olympics.

2026 is in the Dolomites, Benny

Wait until bunny finds out they build artificial rivers for summer events - kayaking canoeing etc. And the swimming events are held in pools! What's wrong with lakes and ponds?

    Snooze-fest.

They need Snoop Dog to cover the ski events. His coverage during the Summer Olympics was awesome. During the Equestrian events “that horse be Crip walkin...”

His narration during Slopestyle should be equally entertaining.

Let me try.... My friend used to work in China. While consulting with an airline company there he said that the mountains often have snow down low which helps farmers avoid the noise pollution and hoof mouth disease.

oh, and Bob Costas is an asshole. He and his family cut in front of me and about 100 other weary business travelers in an Atlanta international airport security line, by telling the TSA person "I'm Bob Costas".

Same question, seems you might be able to recall both.
