Yeah, Hyak lot was nearly full and that main run was on it's way to getting moguled by my 2nd lap today. I think anyone who has ever even heard the words backcountry skiing was at Summit today. Still nice to stretch the legs and get my new setup dialed.

Am I the only one who is bummed that they are putting the park back on Brooks? That area was prefect for the blue groomer groups, especially families with kids. The park at Stevens gets so little use, that it feels like a waste of space/good intermediate runs.

That's a good point I didn't think about. Just following the insta memes tbh...

They did mention they've updated park to make it more friendly to all uses, who knows what that means.

Moving the park backs to brooks significantly reduces the load on Hogs.

I hope you are right. Hogsback is a total cluster most days. Here’s to looking for a silver lining!

Will you be lapping the park on your MFree108’s?

This. They barely ran Brooks last year anyhow.

The worst skiing I've ever seen is at Hyak pre-season.

I showed that picture of Hyak to Mrs. Plug, and she goes: “It looks like fun.”
We’ve only skied there in the spring after it closes for assorted reasons and we just skin straight up the left side. Anyway sometimes it’s fun to hang out with these other folks in a low consequences environment.

I would agree with Mrs Plug. It does look fun! Wish I could have gotten up there to give the legs a stretch.

It was hella fun. I didn’t even show up till noon and still skied knee deep snow. Plenty of fresh if I avoided the face.

No doubt. I klutzed it up with the rest of the circus yesterday... First outing on new to me boots (lupos) and cast set up... It's gonna take some practice to dial those new transitions in.

I have Wednesday 12/15 off and planning to skin central or west before the chairs turn. Have a pass so may stick around for a few laps if it’s not a cluster. I’m also watching weather and MRNP’s twitter for the roads; if it’s clear enough I might audible to Paradise. If anyone wants a ride from Issaquah and to show a recent CO transplant around let me know. Cheers, VP.
