Yup, first time touring around the hairpin in winter instead of spring and life mistakes have been made.

Ha thought that was Silver Star in the second pic but it seemed a little early in the year.

PNW 2021/2022 Season! La Niña ahead!

Still great skiing at Mission. Warmer temps gave the new snow a little more body, without wetting out. Skiing steeper terrain with new snow was nice. Lots of fresh turns along the boundary lines

Ski fast groomers and 4+ inches of soft stuff on top of avy chunder and a rain crust. The debris fields from the recent rain event are impressive.

Yes. Sugar Bowl was especially nice in the trees. Boot top silky snow.

Crustal actually skied really nicely today. Not a ton of people. It was a sleeper rippable soft chop day and there were still untracked lines to be found at close.

I had a feeling that was the case, sorry to hear that. On the plus side, as an Ikon-tard myself, they've gotta be running out of days now. I had 2 left at Alpy and I've been rationing them heavily.

Makes sense. Make a full day of it on the weekends at Crystal, but anytime there is a weekday powday and you just want to get up for a morning, use the ikon privileges at Alpental. 5 or 7 weekday pow mornings is a good amount for the average pow hungry cubicle driver (myself included).

Got there late, around 11:15 AM, and lots were way more filled than yesterday. North-facing aspects skied well, everything else was hot pow where it was untouched, soft chop everywhere else.

Upper mountain was better but the snow down there was pretty good. Nice to see Castle getting some love. Elisa went around and didn’t have to rock hop. I haven’t taken Todd down the main face yet. We skied Lemolo, lip-lip, ka-wham, Wa-Wa, and middle castle today though. Todd can eat snow now while he waits for Elisa.

It’s probably best you took the middle line, the snow on Castle East is really dirty from the rock slide.

Schm00ey g00ey mashed potatoes and gl00ey today up at Crustal. The rain left the off groom manky, but the groimers were fun and lifts ran empty in the rare bluebird sun.

Nice. Corn is ripe. It’s looking like I’ll be free for LBD.

Meanwhile on the east slope, the hills are waking up.
