At least they have lifts running and staff to run them. Wait until next season when the Epic exodus happens.

Condolences on the broken rib. Is this Eve's revenge?

And on the reservation system, wasn't it Gertrude Stein that said a seasons pass is a seasons pass is a seasons pass?

Nice conditions today with park out through F lot.

40 staff down with covid this week apparently.

And of course they're not rescinding the new pay parking policy.

Thanks. My own fault. Boisterous 95lb dog, icy driveway and inappropriate foorwear chosen for his late night pee (letting dog out into the yard in the snow brings out his Bernese roots and it's damn near impossible to get him back in).

At least the meds are working. I couldn't put my pants on unaided this morning and was later brought to tears by a medium fart.

Apparently constipation is a side effect of meds. So pants downage shouldn't be a big priority.

They can choke on a giant bag of dicks for the total lack of foresight and broken promises.

Didn't they write earlier that there would be no reservations this year?
(and regarding pants, there are those times when it's nice to have them off...right?)

Saw at least 10 parking violation tickets on various cars on the way out at lunchtime.

Saw two plows slide out on the blvd and a bus stuck a little further up the road. Was pretty slow going starting at The Claw. Great skiing though, lots of soft snow and many patches of powder to hunt down still.

Didn't they functionally though? They've completely eliminated weekend day passes for most of the season, they don't charge passholders, and they don't charge on weekdays.

There will be no tickets available on weekends that reservations are full and we are eliminating all inventory for Sat/Sun in January immediately.
For January or full weekends, no day passes, so that's not really the same as 'most of the season'.

Plus last year, I had friends get passes on weekends when no reservations were available and their PR said that would not happen. ymmv

But I did have fun with the family today. Son is skiing daddy's skis.

Rockface is filling in and Eagles Nest skied really well even at 1:00

Somehow I misread it as them eliminating day passes for both Jan & Feb, don't know how I did that.

Point is, they promised not to have reservations this year, they put it in writing and have recently removed that from the website.

This is brazen misrepresentation in violation of RCW 19.86.020.

But just like all laws these days, because the powerful are not held accountable, it's probably meaningless.

I'm writing my e-epistles anyway and I suggest those of you pissed off by this channel your feelings into similar activities.

    Bear pits skied great.

I'm still waiting on a tire and the other snow worthy cars have to be delegated to care of the in laws and other commitments.

Their Sep 29th Facebook post not removed yet.

My firm looked into a class case against them last year. Will be revisiting it next week.

"The season is near and change is in the air. Maintaining the character and true nature of the mountain is extremely important to us, and so is our way of adjusting to growing demand and congestion to improve your experience. We're making changes now to set you up for more time on the snow and less in the car.

We’ve listened to your feedback, reflected on these years of growth, and carefully evaluated our options to develop our new parking plan with sustainability in mind. Our goal is to preserve the mountain experience by reducing car volume, encouraging carpooling, providing free shuttle services, and, consequently, reducing our carbon footprint.

For these reasons, we’ve shifted our lots to paid parking on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Free parking is included with the purchase of a season’s pass, and passholders will be required to register their plates online. We do not have a reservation system to ski this season. Carpools of four or more will be free with priority parking, and free bus shuttles will run from Enumclaw peak weekends.

With sustainability as a core value at Crystal, we believe this transportation plan is a positive step to address character, access and sustainability by improving traffic flow, reducing total car trips and lessening environmental impacts.

Please read our full announcement here:
    https://www.crystalmountainresort.co...g-announcement

We'll have more details and an FAQ page to share in the coming weeks to answer questions you may have. Thank you, Crystal community Let the snow fly!"

If I can't get a reservation I'm going to ski anyway and dare them to suspend or restrict my pass. No way they're going to do it.

Though the only place I slide on weekends that's lift served any more is the bunny hill with my daughter.

Edit: I have a suspicion they don't plan to enforce the skiing without a reservation stuff at all. It would take a huge amount of manpower to police it with all these exceptions, particularly since last year made clear that the Ikon reservation system didn't talk to the Crystal Mountain-built one (in eventbrite or whatever) and that the Ikon system updating was slow and only happened once/day:
"*Exceptions will be made for those with reservations for ski school, ski team, kids programs, RV parking, Crystal Mountain Express buses, advanced lift ticket holders, and Ikon Pass Friends & Family tickets with an associated Ikon Pass holder reservation. Also, those with base area lodging confirmations will get a lift reservation, please contact your hotel for more information"
