Can confirm. Was over in Forks a couple weeks ago and it was monsoon weather. Hiking 2 hours = soaked clothing even with rain gear. Just made it out of there before the Highway closed due to landslides.

Maybe we should have had Emma Peel start it....like smashing a bottle of bubbly across the bow of the season?

The SST anomaly pattern continues to indicate a strengthening La Niña in the equatorial Pacific. While the effects of La Niña are most typically felt later in the winter, the exception appears to be in the case of this thread where y'all are acting a little bitch.

Seems like every year people get antsy thinking that skiing should start earlier but historically lift served skiing at most hills in WA doesn’t really take off until mid December

Rejoice those jealous of the WROD thread. Western WA will have it's very own WROD this weekend at Crystal:

Hasn't been cold enough to make much snow yet. But looks like mostly below freezing temps for the foreseeable future. Not much natural snow but good snowmaking conditions. Check back in on Saturday and that will be wall of wall ribbon of death.

Sure, but having most lifts spinning by mid-December usually implies you're not starting with bare dirt on December 1st. Bare dirt on 12/1 = justified antsiness.

Cliff Mass discussed how yesterday's temperatures east of the Cascades (some places seeing 70 degrees) were just as anomalous as the June heat wave.

These are not the historic events I'd like to experience. I'm looking for historic snowfall rates at the 1000 foot and above zone...Record breaking bases at our ski resorts...those kinds of historic events, please....

Very interesting. As most of you know, that June heat event is basically what started the miserable summer over here. I wonder what this warm spell foretells for the near future.
