    Nice work Eastern Skiier. You hit it perfectly. Some would say some sun and Summit would make it perfect, and I would not argue, but storm riding those Bachy trees is perfect in my opinion!

    Is that a skiier\boarder on the right disguised in a billowing over the head faceshot...JFC...Killing me. Almost feel like it's time to "work from home" down in Bend and pay the god damn 150 for a lift ticket later this week...Many things are in the way of that move...

    A boarder - He pulled a mute grab 360 off the lip. Me and my slow ass photo skills missed the shot, and got him imploding into the whiteroom. More pics and report of the day to follow. NWX spun at about 9:20ish just as I unloaded Pine. Yes, there were multiple descents of untracked and half filled chairs for the first few laps. As has been mentioned upthread, why not both?

    After the initial morning line up at Pine Martin, NW and Out Back opened a short time later and spread out the crowds. I lapped NW for most of the day and never waited. It was deep out there.

    How deep was it off NW? I have 50” poles and I could easily sink well over half of it into the new snow.
    Traversed out off of NW and skied fresh lines all day. Super fun.

    2 fright trees, 12 PR with backwards_banana. Beers consumed / person = (# of laps) / 2 (approx)

    Great day. Remy was digging the nukage too. God I love this shit.

    Unconsolidated… didn’t want to push further and lose the pole.

    So, the Pine Martin pen was stocked and stoked. It was puking and nuking at 9am as we ascended to the heavens to partake of Ullr's April blessing.

    First run off Pine was into Grotto. One set of tracks had preceded me. Face shots were plentiful, and the laughter came spontaneously.

    There were lots of this going on;

    John Mcleod was at the Pine lift on the 2nd lap, and I heard him proclaim, NWX will be opening soon. True to his word this morning, the sign was flipped upon unloading. Off to nirvana and thigh deep fresh track on Boomerang. Again, my bad luck, but there was one set of tracks that preceded me. No matter. There was plenty of fresh for me.

    Near the bottom I came across a snowboarder buried waist deep in snow. With some help from a few other boarders and skiers we switch off and worked our way down on to the groomer to NWX.

    And as hard as it is to believe I ended up being the 2nd tracks down underneath NWX too.

    Lines at NWX were not bad at all. Maybe we will do it again on Thursday...

    Looking forward to covering this skate race, Tepe and Tacos, for my friend Papdog though. He is launching a community-focused longboarding magazine, The Freeride Flyer, and I'm writing a few event coverage articles for him.

    I'm not planning on competing, but I'm bringing my board and leathers for hopefully a little training.

    There's a race the weekend after in The Gorge over by Biggs Junction (Maryhill) which I might be up to entering if I can get some practice runs in Santa Maria.

    Ain't nothing like skating pow, but it'll be nice to see some of my pals.
