Meadows delivered the fucking goods today. Lined up at MHX to get first shot in the bowls. Fuck, why is the vibe so weird compared to HRM?

Lots of aggro folk in the early mhx lineup who have quite elevated opinions about their downhill ability

Ah good to see MHX is still terrible. I bumped chairs at that lift a decade back. Worst job I ever had by a long shot.

I’m guessing it will after the next dump. Coverage is good. The get-back is going to need some filling in. It skied well today, got out there with SE-Mag. Stable but sloughing.

Mrs ::: :::’s second cousin had an old advertorial by Plymouth in her house. She gave it to us just for fun to see a look at Hood from before we were born

Thanks for all the well wishes, I really felt it when I was on my way up to make some turns with my brother on Christmas day. I skied like a struggling intermediate but it was worth it to ski even for just a few runs this morning with my brother. I definitely favoring my right knee so dialed it way back.

Managed one quick pic as my brother was getting after it for his first turns of the day

    Merry Christmas Mags!!!

Terrible is being a bit dramatic.
If you didn't have fun running a lift, you were doing it wrong (I will admit I never ran a detach lift)

And to you Toadman! Nice to see you give it a go
Hero snow today, with many wee-wee tingling turns. My legs aren’t yet in powder shape
TFC to take gloves off for photos.
Wind was gusting like a mofo on west side when I was there

A lady asked me if I was Santa Claus. Despite great temptation I did not invite her to sit on my lap & tell me her naughtiest Xmas wishes…

is this the place to post for hood/portland? i'm from SLC, but will be in town the 1st week of 2022. Have a full free day friday the 7th. hoping to get a tour in on Mt. Hood or anything else good nearby (i'm a PNW virgin). just looking for someone local to help me out, i'll be in SW portland, if pre-work turns are possible then great, otherwise i'm good waiting till my free day.

This is why I don’t ski meadows anymore. Past two days at Targhee have been stellar. Zero lifelines, very kind people, no stupid Meadows Portland agro douchiness. One more day to go and it’s Nukin’ this morning.

The Ghee great ski area. We hit it 2 yrs ago on a 20 inch dump. Will be there in March again.

Targhee is like a neglected child that gets passed up with JH being only 1.5 hr drive. We’d all be kind and giddy too if there was no line on powder day ;-) But powder day on Hood is like black Friday at Walmart. I’ve adjusted my standard and I thought last Thursday and Friday skied great with a manageable holiday crowd.. probably $150 tix and restriction on value pass holders have something to do with that.

More importantly, anyone in the know what’s up with Heather/PR? Waiting for snow to consolidate?

Guessing we just need enough volume for the snow bridges to be properly built

Excellent couple of days up on the little mountain that could. The nightly 8" refreshes are skiing great. Keep it coming Santa!

Would be interested in first hand reports myself as I didn't make it up there today. Sounds like viz and wind might have made things challenging. Didn't want to risk my knee any further and just looking to try and heal up for the rest of the winter season.

Currently dumping in SE Bend. Must be just nuking and puking up in the Cascades.

Minimal lines at Meadows the last three days. Today was a ski onto the chair kind of day. Snow is light where protected, bit wind pressed most places. PR will be awesome if they can get it open tomorrow or Tuesday. Should have gotten a skibowl night pass this year for second shift…
