I was able to get up on Summit a little bit after it opened yesterday, the hike for those wind loaded pockets up top was definitely worthwhile!

Anyone gonna be at the ranch on Tuesday? Wife and I are trading kid watching duties, I think the mid mountain forecast of 15 with negative 2 windchill at 9 AM Tuesday means I’ll be able to get first turn on skis before retiring to the trailer.

Between my "local" mountain being closed, being lazy and not hiking for turns, a new puppy crying at 5 a.m., and work...I have all excuses covered for why I am not up this morning getting turns...

Anticipating tomorrow, I wonder how fast patrols can open up the canyon… most likely PR cracks first and possibly lower?? Canyon especially upper may not even open until really late tomorrow or on Wednesday I’m guessing. I’m just trying to motivate myself to work ;-) Carry on!

I've never seen Meadows run just HRM. If Stadium or MHE can't run, then HRM wont most likely

That said, above freezing moisture = money trail conditions, tap into existing Waldo to Oakridge trail routes (Fuji/Bunchgrass/Heckletooth) and create an (e)bike park that ties in with the Oakridge bike economy. Now you are talking!

I'm dropping in from outer space (WA) to say that this is an excellent idea. I bet that area would be fantastic for e-bike focused huge trail networks, and that activity it a lot more reliable than snow sports there must be... Back to your scheduled programming.

My guess is a huge windy storm preceded by weeks of freeze/thaw would not be conducive to that kind of terrain opening quickly.
