PSA: Apparently there will be a shortage of ODOT Plow drivers this Winter. This could get interesting on the passes.

Local news said they are short something like 167 ODOT personnel this year. I guess if people can't get from West to East that will not be a tragedy for those of us already East of the pass. My guess is that is where the resources will be focused and the rest of us will have to survive local streets that don't get plowed for weeks.

Priority will be the passes. No trucks no fuel or food. A few times when passes were closed we'd go to Biggs and down 97, that made for a long day. But yeah Central Oregon will be on its own. Could turn into a total cluster since most cretins can't driver anyway. That said, it will probably be a banner snowpack so that's good. Getting chains out for autos...

True. Hoping 35 doesn't become more clogged with PDXers because of it. Last season had to be the all time worst.

Meanwhile up at the parent's place in Anchorage this happened today. Sadly, last day for them in the house before they move down to the lower 48 this weekend. Going to miss that place. But not shoveling the driveway! Will now have to pay for lodging when I want to go up there to ski.

Use to operate this in the Gorge and front range. I wet my pants at first, hanging off the side of a 50° rock pile. What a guy will do for money.

Ok you can the designated driver

ETA: it seats 14. That’s one hell of a party boat. We could run a charter on Lake Billy Chinook and lower Deschutes.

    Plus backcountry skiing expeditions

At 120 million will have to make payments. Or a 2006 PB 200 for 34k & a trailer.

The Swedes bought 105 of them for $120mill. So only $1.15 million each.

Great sunrise pics on Skibowl’s and Timberline’s cameras this morning.

Snow mostly gone, but at least the pineapple is over and the temperature gets right on Wed.

From the look of the forecast the only thing I'll be carving is turkey on Thanksgiving.

Took the dog for a hike up Sunrise just past the Summit lift station. Didn't need a jacket. Need that cold to come back pronto. I am out of here for Thanksgiving, so hopefully it starts snowing while I am gone.

MHM posted their COVID plans. Looks like they'll be aiming to load the chairs to capacity, thank jeebus.
