Stowe committing to free parking with four in the car also suggests that it really is about traffic mitigation, not just a money grab.

Hmmmm. Steaux got bought by vail.
Season Pass prices went way down.
And strangers can ski for free.

    I’m shocked there’s a parking problem now.

I’m sure the slopes are empty on weekends too

The Loaf looks like it has more snow than Killington.

Winch cat broke down on Superstar, so it never opened all day which was a bit annoying, but the sun was out and turns were soft and was with a group of old school local bump rippers, so fun was had.

Jay Peak continues to provide. Beauty of a day today. Lots of wooded terrain off the triple skiing well. Groomers thick. May head back for Wed depending on storm totals.

32º and calm bob w/ 6 1/16" new wet snow and lightly snowing still. Upper snow stake cam showing 1/4" and scrolling back shows sideways snow due to strong SE wind all night.

For anyone concerned, the Vanagon has landed… Repeat… the Vanagon has landed. Utica, NY to Southwest Harbor, ME without a hiccup. And some great skiing along the way!

I did, however, get passed by a UPS truck and a then School Bus when I couldn’t avoid the Interstate near Bangor.

Now listening to wind in the trees and rain on the windowpanes. Quitting while I’m ahead and calling it a Season after such a good day yesterday. Be well all!

Stay tuned for a potential Summer Mag Gathering at my place in Acadia coinciding with the Phish show in Bangor on July 16… as ticketchecker quipped: “Come for the Phish, stay for the Lobster!”

I rode my 2007 Mantra's yesterday as they're the closest thing I have to a bump ski. They've survived all these years because I flipped them to a tour specific ski and then replaced them with a lighter tour specific ski.

These skis are actually still awesome! They were perfect in slushy groom and the bumps.

My friend went all in a bought a pair of bump skis yesterday. I haven’t seen a ski that narrow in years!

Glad to hear you made it back (even though I already knew that from our call this morning). First 10 miles out of da loaf this AM was mildly sketchy with accumulated slush but it was only wet roads only after that.

^10”+ down (heavy) at Jay with another 4-6”+ coming over night. Base building magic. I will be there tomorrow and likely Saturday w the family. Should be interesting in the morning. Likely better as things turn over a bit and the trees drop their droop. Heavy limbs strangle lines.

the wind hold gods were on my side yesterday.
got out the door guranteed to arrive after first chair.
for much of ride snow report was stuck at 0" new snow.
resigned to getting snaked (this was originally a 15" dump as of sunday) by a bad forecast, a late refresh showed 7" and the k1 on hold till 10". just like that i would be early!
snow was heavy and clothes were soaked early on but it was good.
by 1pm the cold front would follow a brief stretch of bright overcast and bring 3hrs of falling snow blowing sideways and improved conditions.
bell*-to-bell, caught a last chair at 3:58 and touched down at 4:23, legs thorougly cooked, ready for a warm car.

I'll be there this weekend, should be an awesome time. They're hosting the annual Parking Lot Party and Tailgate BBQ Competition at Stateside as well, we might join in on that or just do our own thing down in the Jet Lot. I'm thinkin' it might be a good day to ski in jeans, I'll holler about change for a nickel in the lift lines.
